I'm on my 2nd Lucid Air (2025 Air Touring after a 2023 Touring) and in both vehicles, the documented method of opening the charge port door from outside doesn't seem to work. I've seen the diagram in the manual showing you where to push on the door (near bottom edge) and yes, the car was unlocked, but i've tapped, pushed, banged and swiped until I looked like a moron or a vandal. I'm afraid to push harder on it for fear of damaging it.

I know it's not a huge deal to open the driver's door again and push that button on the left screen, but because the viewing angle on that screen is pretty narrow, you practically have to get all the way back in the driver's seat to see where exactly to push. It would certainly be more convenient for this to work as documented.

Does the tap method work for anyone?

Mine takes a substantially more assertive push in the lower right corner than @Bobby 's.

Not a tap. A firm press in the lower right hand corner.

Never worked for me. If I pull up slightly on the bottom right of the charge port door, it opens. I usually open from the cockpit panel though.

But, just tried it, pushing on the bottom right does not work. But a bit to the left of the bottom right does work (still bottom right, but just a bit more towards center).

Well thank you. I have not been able to open the charge port door by tapping as well. I went out and tried it per the video and it works. I did have to press a little harder in the corner as Booby stated. Thank again. I was using my car app to open the door. Now it’s easier. Thanks again everyone.

I had the same issue when I got the car in Dec 2022. All posts said to press the bottom right corner. That never worked. By trial and error I figured at that pressing the bottom center area always opened the charging cover for me.

That's what I have found. I also just use my knee to push it - no need to bend over.
