I picked up my Lucid Gravity on December 31 and wanted to share my experience, particularly as someone who owns an Air.
My Gravity has been excellent so far and feels like a more mature and refined Lucid product.
From delivery until recently, the key fob worked flawlessly. The car would unlock before I reached the door and consistently auto-lock as I walked away. Recently, the walk-away auto-lock has become inconsistent and now works about 50% of the time. Unlock behavior remains perfect.
I do get intermittent “sensor blocked” alerts that clear on their own and have not affected drivability, but they have appear.
Driver assist is a noticeable step up from the Air. It works in many more locations and feels more advanced overall, even though it’s not hands-free yet. Two features I like are the vehicle proactively creating extra space when driving next to large vehicles and the rear monitoring that flashes in the drive assist screen when a vehicle is in the blind spot
The button placement, screen layout, and general usability are significantly improved over the Air. Everything feels more intuitive and better designed for daily driving.
The multi-screen functionality is also much better than the Air. The Air had very limited multi-screen use, and while the Gravity improves on this, there’s still room for better utilization of the displays. Its nice how you can do different things on different screens. All 4 of them.
My Air had some alignment issues, not severe, but noticeable if you’re detail oriented. The Gravity arrived perfectly aligned, no panel gaps and trim are excellent.
The Gravity cabin is VERY quietn with very good road and wind noise isolation.
The sound system is also an improvement, sounding fuller and more refined with a lot heavier bass.
I’m averaging about 2.8 miles/kWh in Dynamic mode. This is well below the rated numbers, but it has been very accurate in predicting real-world range, which I actually prefer over optimistic estimates.
In reference I was also lucky with my Air, I never had software issues and restarted only once after an uograde in 3 years of ownership. So far my Gravity has followed in the same way. No screen freezes, no system crashes, and no major.
The Gravity just feels like Lucid has taken what they learned from the Air and delivered a more refined vehicle. While I understand others have had issues, my personal experience has been overwhelmingly positive. With some polish around sensor messaging, and walk away locking consistency it will be near perfect.
