Strangest thing happened a week or so ago. After flawless scheduled charging since Lucid added that update, my 2023 Air Touring started charging as soon as I plugged it into my charger, even though it was set for scheduled charging eight hours later. So I stopped charging, removed the cable, reinserted the cable, but it started charging again. So I tapped "Stop charging" and left it, assuming it would charge that night. It did not. Nor did it ever L2 charge again.
The indicator LEDs on my hardwired Grizzl-E indicate that it is functioning normally and it "sees" the car. When I plug in the cable to the Lucid the Lucid display reads "cable connected." But it won't charge. I have toggled the Grizzl-E circuit breaker twice for a minute to reset the charger, but that made no difference.
I have done two of the "brake pedal steering wheel buttons" resets as suggested by Lucid customer service. It made no difference.
I also used Lucid's own supplied cable and plugged it into a 117v AC outlet to trickle charge, but it did not charge. So I'm fairly certain the problem is not the Grizzl-E.
I drove to an EA DCHV charger and it charged just fine, although slower than usual. I have been in touch with Lucid's Goose Island service center and they are on it. The service director claims this is a first. He's been very responsive, but needed to forward the problem to the tech staff out in California. So as long as I'm willing to drive 12 miles each way I can charge at the only EA chargers in Champaign-Urbana, IL. Fortunately, they are fairly new and work well. (Incidentally, starting about four months ago I stopped having any problems with EA chargers.)
As a compliment to Lucid, I reached customer service on Christmas morning without a wait. Bravo to the selfless souls to work the phones on such an important holiday morning. They stuck with me for more than half an hour of remote guidance before we gave up. Then Goose Island called first thing on Friday. (Ironically while I was charging at EA.) I expect to hear from them tomorrow about whether I need to drive the car to Chicago or whether mobile service might be able to deal with it here.
While I'm not happy about the charging situation, I think thus far Lucid has dealt with it in an exemplary fashion.
