Why did he say “complimentary”? When did any company charge for OTAs? The conspiracy theorist in me wonders if this is setting the stage for future OTAs not being free….
Yeah, you should save that tendency for something else. This is not happening.

Complimentary doesn’t always mean free….

com·pli·men·ta·ry
/ˌkämpləˈmen(t)ərē,ˌkämpləˈmentrē/

adjective

  1. 1.
expressing a compliment; praising or approving

I think it was to be clear to prospective buyers, however poor choice of words. If you think about the number of people being paid to write that press release, it boggles the mind they didn't think twice about the inference.

OTOH, I agree with @joec on the tendency... :)

Perfect timing, I hope. My GGT is going in for service tomorrow (due bill for trim that was scratched by hauler during delivery back in September, check the cameras that keep failing, and service bulletins). Hopefully I can get them to install it while it is in for service.

I had to pay BMW $250 to get Apple Carplay when they first started rolling it out way back when. Then had to pay an extra $200 to make it full screen because the code they had it for didn't allow it so had to go third-party.

I think the wording is there to let people know that unlike other companies that just want to keep charging you for crap, Lucid is out here giving owners things with no strings attached.

Agreed. Complementary is a hospitality word to mean “Look at the continued value we provide at no additional cost.” It’s meant to make you feel good for having spent a boatload of money on something.

Resist the urge to read more into it.

Read too much into it? In an online forum? Oh, we would never! 🤣

Oh please pick me first. My key is killing me and I'm being a whinny kid about it.
Have you spoken to Lucid about it? You seem to be the only one having consistent fob failures with the latest update vs others just having sporadic issues.

There is an active campaign to look at the fobs so maybe your car falls under that and needs to have the fobs looked at.

“Perform TSC-K0226-001 - Inspect date code on all key fobs paired to the vehicle and replace if needed.”

Mine is in the shop now and Lucid took both keys back to look at and re-pair to the car.

I’m not a major fan of CarPlay, I actually like the look and feel of Lucid navigation and I use Tidal. It also sounds like AC will only be using the clearview cockpit display. So CarPlay will not use the lower screen, similar to the air.

But If we will be able to independently use Lucid navigation on the lower screen while CarPlay is active, it could solve a major issue that the Air currently can’t do - seeing simultaneous lucid navigation for range , charge stations selection, and SOC estimates on lower screen while also getting smart routing from g maps or Waze in upper screen. Currently you have to toggle back and forth to do this on the Air which is cumbersome but also dangerous without HFDA

This isn’t PAAK right? Just AC and AA?
Off-topic, but I can't see PAAK without thinking of something like this (warning, AI generated image because I'm lazy):

(I guess this is actually .PAAKaaK.)

No. I emailed the dedicated software feedback email though. My original fob was great, and then service came here two weeks ago. I showed him my bad button, and he took my old fob and gave me a new one. Then immediately after I had a bunch of issues, and this was on 3.4.1. I texted him, he came back, did something and presented me with two keys. I tested both, and both worked great on 3.4.1. Then after this 3.4.4 update, both keys just don't work.

Its as if, they push an update to the module that control the lock/unlock, body control unit, and the flash to the BCU didn't write correctly. Either that or I have an early version of the BCU and they made some kinda hardware change and didn't test against the old revision. I suspect I have one of the first 200 Gravities produced.
