Lucid Gravity GT 2026
Hey all,

New Lucid Gravity 2026 GT owner here. Dream Drive Premium, Dynamics Package, Tahoe leather, 20/21" wheels, 3-row.

Coming from Bay Area, California. I wanted a three-row that could make it to the mountains for skiing while also being small enough to get into my tiny two-car garage. It certainly satisfies the second condition, and it seems from other members on this forum that it can satisfy the first. Looking forward to my first ski trip up to Tahoe in it this winter - with any luck the range should make the drive up without much drama.

Coming from a Polestar 2, and after having test driven the Rivian R1S/R2, Hyundai Ioniq 5/9, and Volkswagen ID. Buzz, I was extremely impressed with just how much utility Lucid offers within its size category. The additional range over its competition and getting to Tahoe in one shot was enough to sell me on the Grand Touring edition. Everything else has just felt like a bonus. The cabin is quiet, the wife loves the seats, and the car is genuinely fun to drive in ways I wasn't fully expecting from something this practical.

Since the switch, the range and extent of all the little car quirks I was subconsciously dealing with in my previous car has been surprising. I think I had a little bit of Stockholm syndrome and assumed that all of these highly connected iPad-on-wheels type EVs were glitchy and that was just something you had to deal with, but instead my experience has been the opposite. The Gravity has been extremely solid for me since software version 3.6.0. The infotainment system has just worked, and aside from restarting itself while the car is parked, I haven't noticed any of the complaints I saw reviewers expose in previous software versions. All features and mechanical components have otherwise been solid.

One thing I have noticed: the vehicle will (very briefly) alarm over the propulsion system or the steering system, complain that it needs an immediate service appointment, but then the error will wink out as quickly as it came. Are these anything to be worried about? Curious if anyone else has seen these pop up and whether dealers have any real answer for them, or if it's just something to live with.

Thanks for having me - happy to be here, and happy to answer questions from anyone else considering a Gravity.

I also have the occasional alerts about XYZ system not working upon "start", which quickly disappear. Haven't had any actual trouble, just seems to be a phantom alert in my experience. YMMV of course.

Had the alerts a lot before 3.6, then pretty much went away. After 3.64 get the occasional alert again, but seems to be phantom as mentioned

Congrats on your purchase! We own the exact same trim - black stealth GT with 20/21 wheels. We live in Bay Area as well. Multiple trips to Tahoe without any charging required during the journey. We arrive in Tahoe with around 50-80miles of range remaining. Unbelievably convenient for those trips and of course the car is incredible in so many other ways.

Also our software has been rock solid since January. Enjoy!

Nice. And welcome to the owner's club.

Which is a good reminder: Have you joined the actual Lucid Owner's Club? Something to consider.

Ah, I appreciate the reminder. I did not see that these were separate.

And this is really great to hear. Are you using the OEM all-season tires, or did you replace them? Looking forward to the winter!

Nope we have the original tires. I turn off regen in ice and snow. Our lastTahoe trip there was a major snowstorm. Our Gravity was amazing driving back on i80. We passed multiple trucks and SUVs that were stuck or spun out. The traction control was pretty cool to experience.

That being said, I’m sure winter tires would have been even better.

Why turn off regen? Does that provide better handling or grip in snow?

I've seen multiple people say to turn regen off, but that approach doesn't really make sense IMO. The motors are able to adjust far more frequently than ABS systems, so using regen with careful accelerator modulation should be more effective in the snow.

I make sure its on the lowest regen I can select (Air so Sprint, Std Regen) so its easy to modulate. I will also turn it off under some conditions.

I don't know if I need to turn it off or not actually. But I had a terrible time in a Kia EV9 in Colorado last winter with it on, was like slamming on brakes with gradual accelerator release. The Gravity is way better in that department, but in steep mountain icy roads, I did not want to take a chance! Stability control was still active and did a masterful job.

I agree it should be fine, but it felt more predictable on steep icy roads in the mountains. I would prefer the wheels slip as little as possible, and I worried that regen might create a transient slip if active and I had to come off accelerator a little quicker than I expected (which happened a lot in the Kia). I also wasn't worried about range and felt like it was not a must-have at that time. So Smooth mode. regen off, worked really well for me. YMMV.
