Hello all, I'm a new owner of a 2025 Air Pure in fathom blue/platinum with 20 inch wheels, SSP, and 20-way seats. I just posted a VERY LONG 1-month impression over on Reddit so I'll cross post it here. The software has a looooong way to go to be more stable but I LOVE this car.
Original Reddit Post
I picked up my 2025 Air Pure on June 19th so I thought I would post some impressions after the first month. As I live in SC and Lucid does not offer leases in my State, I purchased this car outright so it's safe to say I am heavily invested in Lucid and was ready to take this plunge for the long term. This'll be a very long post so I'll start with a TLDR...
TLDR: I absolutely love this car and have no regrets. As someone who enjoys driving, this car is incredible. The software is shockingly buggy, however, but doesn't generally detract from the fact this car feels and drives better than anything I've ever driven.
My Background: I am coming from a 10 year old Mazda 6 sedan so my impressions/expectations are very different than someone who is driving a Tesla with a much more modern software experience. I like cars and like driving and my preference is for a sedan/coupe as I do not like sitting high. I am not a fan of SUVs and don't enjoy driving them. I have zero interest in autopilot as I want to drive, I don't want the car to drive me. I also appreciate the feel of a good RWD sports sedan and one of the most fun all around driving vehicles I owned was an early 2000s BMW 3 series (manual trans). I am also a current owner of the legendary 1993 FD RX-7, so I know what a driver's car should feel like.
So what is it like to drive...
Power: The car is tuned for a very smooth drive, almost like the old Mercedes sedans that would start from a stop in second gear unless you really punched it. I think this was very intentional to make the car feel good without any jerky starts from a stop. But when you are already moving and need to merge onto the highway, the 45-60mph acceleration feels essentially instantaneous (and damn satisfying). This, to me, is perfect because now in my mid/late 40s, I don't need 0-60 times to race from stoplight to stoplight. But accelerating at mid speeds is a real usable thing that improves the overall daily driving experience immensely. Even with the Pure being the "slowest" Air, I can't imagine ever needing more power.
Handling: I'm not tossing this car around the track but the low center of gravity and (in my case) the 20 inch summer tires leave it feeling extremely planted. I got the Pure because I wanted RWD and lower weight vs the Touring and it just feels great.
Comfort: I'm very picky about sound/noise (NVH as they call it) and this car is very quiet and serene inside, which I love. I picked mine up in Tysons and was driving in DC/NOVA rush hour traffic, but inside the car it was like an island oasis. The seats are quite comfortable too (I got the 20-way upgrades) and while I expected the massage to be a silly gimmick, I actually use it all the time. One random thing I've noted is the headrest is by far the most comfortable I have ever experienced. Every other car seems to have a rock hard headrest that only serves to prevent whiplash but otherwise is never meant to be touched. This one has a very plush and inviting feeling to it that is just great.
Stereo: I got the upgraded SSP stereo and it's practically a requirement from the base stereo IMO. It's not as punchy and "V-curve" as most stereos are tuned to be, but rather a very accurate studio monitor-esque sound.
User Interface: Oh boy... Well I have to say I like the Lucid UX design, and I actually got the Android Auto upgrade at the Studio when I picked up my car so I've had it all along too. The screens are very nice and there is no lag at all. But THE BUGS!!! Oh my god, before buying the car I read comments and thought, ok I'll need to reboot a couple times a month. No. I am not exaggerating when I say I experience a random bug literally every single time I drive the car. Every. Single. Time. None are dealbreakers nor are they bad enough to detract from how amazing everything else is but it's downright shocking how much random stuff is constantly going wrong. The hilarious thing is the one problem I DON'T have is with unlocking. That part has been basically flawless for me. But here is only a sample of the bugs I have experienced thus far:
Minor Annoyances: There are a few things that don't bother me much but just sharing as I have noticed them and some have been reported by others as well. The first two are hardware and we're stuck with them, but the other two are about the simplest software changes imaginable.

The hilarious thing is the one problem I DON'T have is with unlocking. That part has been basically flawless for me. But here is only a sample of the bugs I have experienced thus far:
- No sound at all - no stereo, no blinker sounds, no parking sensor beeps, no phone calls. This was fixed by a reboot, but I will note that this is the only problem that has ever been fixed by rebooting.
- Speed limit indicator (looks like a speed limit sign) randomly changed to European format (round sign with a red outline)
- Microphone not working for voice assistant, searches, or phone calls (happens all the time)
- Trip computer grossly miscalculating miles/kwh (happened only once)
- All cover art vanishing for Tidal, showing only generic icons of a musical note. Fixes itself after 2 or 3 days but has recurred multiple times
- Starting music on Tidal sometimes takes 10+ seconds for the song to start playing. Seems unresponsive and then suddenly catches up to all the clicks you've made
- Search bar on Tidal (Lucid version, not AA version) randomly disappears and you can't get it back, so no way to search for anything
- Android Auto refuses to connect sometimes
- Music can't resume after returning to the car. Still shows on pause but can't be unpaused so I have to search for and then restart the whole album
- Phone app refusing to wake up the car
- Car losing all cellular connectivity for 24 hours so unable to do anything - no GPS mapping, no Tidal music, no remote access via app. This coincided with Android Auto refusing to connect so I couldn't use Tidal or Google Maps through AA either
- Text messages provide no notification. There's no sound made when received and no pop up on the screen so I have no idea I received anything. This happens 100% of the time whether using Lucid UX or AA. It worked the first day I got the car but then stopped
- Phone calls also occasionally provide no sounds or screen notification, so I sometimes miss a call and have no idea.
Minor Annoyances: There are a few things that don't bother me much but just sharing as I have noticed them and some have been reported by others as well. The first two are hardware and we're stuck with them, but the other two are about the simplest software changes imaginable.
- Door detents are weird and you can smash your leg easily unless you push the door all the way open. This is a bigger issue for passengers who aren't used to it and my 10 year old son already hurt his leg once.
- Steering wheel controls are reversed. Cruise control is on the left and stereo is on the right. I can already use the screen and the dashboard volume knob with my right hand, so I don't need steering wheel stereo controls to also be only controllable with my right hand. I often drive with my left hand while relaxing my right arm on the center armrest but when I do that, I can't control the stereo. It's non-sensical and backwards
- On the left side of the driver's screen, it shows how many miles you've driven since last charge, or for Trip A/B. But it doesn't show how many kwh you've used or your miles/kwh. You have to go into settings and then the trip computer on the lower screen to see this. That makes no sense, especially when there is a huge amount of empty space on the left side of the driver's screen.
- The battery only shows percent OR miles remaining but not both. Again, there is plenty of room to show both so it should do that by default.
