I think the little tab on the side can be pressed in and it’ll come apart in two pieces. Then you can screw it down (if the threads are still there) and close it back up.

Finally got around to fixing it and it was easy-peasy, just like you mentioned, @californiaboy935 ! For future reference, you'd need a T25 Torx size — star-shaped tip standard 1/4-inch hex shank.
