Lucid Air Pure 2024 RWD
Hey guys, so i was driving in LI NY yesterday during snow, and was pretty careful, still managed to hit a light pole at 10-15 mph while turning. The impact didn't seem very hard and the number plate seems to have saved a lot of front damage, but there's still quite a lot of cosmetic damage I think. I've never had a crash experience before, so if anyone has any ideas/recommendations/estimate of the cost of repair, I would deeply appreciative that!

Unfortunately, looks like the damage may be to some important forward sensors. It looks minor, but prepare yourself for repair estimates. Sorry about the loss of traction. 😞

That’s so sad. Are you on 19” wheels ?
The same exact reason I went for Touring AWD

Painful and reason number fiftylleven why my car has never seen a snowflake.

So sorry man, I feel you pain. Can't comment to much on estimate price, though I'd venture that it's a lot more than you might think. I had somewhat more damage to my front and the estimate is around $35k (which insurance will cover, though I suspect they will want there pound of flesh down the road). I think another member here had a scratch on the front and it was (or still is) a debacle. Amazing fantastic best-in-class car, but not a lot of fun if you hit something. Best of luck!

Sorry to hear about the damage. I hope the repair goes smoothly for you. I haven't had experience with collision work. However, reading about others' experiences in the forum, the works and costs seem to vary depending on the extent of damage. I would trust your local service center to give you their best recommendations for where to get the work done.

I have driven my '23 Air Pure AWD in heavy snow and icy conditions while maneuvering through elevation multiple times. I've used the snow socks and they have definitely provided good traction. They are not much hassle to put on or take off, like chains I've used on other vehicles.

Hi. Would you please settle a debate? Do you put the snow socks on the front, rear or all tires?

Lucid has authorized body shops now. Reach out to CS or service and ask for an authorized body shop near you. Although, I think they also have a service center on LI. So you could probably just go there. And I echo what has already been said above- It's going to cost more than you think and that's in part because there's a good chance sensors are involved. Good luck!

Bob, I was told by Lucid CS that snow socks go on the driving wheels. So either front, rear, or all tires if AWD. On rears if RWD. I tend to be cautious, so I put them on all 4 since I have AWD.

I have a feeling that I was lucky in not hitting the sensors, as I see no warnings on the screens and the dream drive and collision sensors seem to work fine?

My bumper was practically scraping the ground after my accident and I drove home with a "brake system fault" warning (brakes still worked and driving very conservatively regen was all I needed). After I got home and the car "slept", I had zero warnings, even driving it down to the repair center, none came up - all clear - which was funny considering the obvious damage. I hope you have minimum impact from your collision, though with my one data point I would not suggest your sensors are A-OK because you have no warnings (hopefully they are fine and just a realignment at worst).
