I'm experimenting with the Faraday bag. Second fob is right next to garage - I am giving it every opportunity to go bad - we'll see about the Faraday bag helping.
 
My wife's fob isnt used as often and the key ring in the mud room is close to the driveway so I made sure to get her a faraday bag, was thinking to use one myself to save battery when I need it

3 weeks later today, my fob is dead again (measured it at 2.7V). This proves that the range (which is probably further than most people's given our house layout anyway) is not the issue. I have relayed this to San Jose service.

I agree that the faraday bag is not a solution. The only reason for having a faraday bag would be if you are storing your key very close to the car (less than 20 ft.). If you notice that your car keeps waking and sleeping, over and over, then maybe need a faraday bag. Even then, that would only be the case if the key was regularly being jostled.

My thinking is that if you keep your key in your pocket a large amount of the day, it is constantly being waken and triggered to ping to look for car. Faraday bag is not going to change this behavior. I am retired, so no walking around office all day with key in my pocket, and I make a habit of always putting key in our designated key drawer when I get home that is about 25 ft. from car. Still on original battery from delivery almost 2 months ago.
 
My fob wouldn't work this morning. Never got any battery warnings. Keycard in center console didn't work either. Did a reboot, nothing. Replaced the keyfob battery and car started working. Also just realized that card on b pillar may have worked, but still don't understand why center console wouldn't work after opening with app. Phone as key can't come fast enough. Should also have option to start car from app to drive, though the app seems to be in vehicle offline mode at least 10-20% off the time. I was late to a meeting because of this issue. It's a shame, such a wonderful, car, crippled by stupid software decisions. I'm happy to wait out the early bugs, but this is a 2nd gen car, shouldn't this have all been worked out on the air?

yeah, I keep mine in one because it is relatively close to the vehicle when in the house.

I'm wondering now where the antenna is for Gravity's PaaK, if it's in the center console that is failing on some people. anyone know where the Air's is?

This happened to me. Opening the car with the phone to unlock the doors still requires the car to detect the key fob. I had to lock the car with the key card, unlock the car with the key card at the pillar. Then it worked.
 
I don’t mean to sound like a snob, but Lucid really needs to give all vehicle owners some form of goodwill at this point.

Every time there’s an issue with the car starting up, I’m really embarrassed to have to get out of the car to fix it.

I think there are DE owners that still haven't received their second fob so while it'd definitely be a nice thing I don't see it happening.

I have had this happen once since 3.3.20. Resorted to key card and worked fine. Was not fob battery since this was over 2 weeks ago and fob has worked flawless since and still on original battery.

I originally did not make a big deal about only having one fob since PAAK was promised “SOON”. Now that we know “SOON” is more like “when we get around to it”, I am thinking a second fob is the least Lucid should do to make this right.
 
That article has a quote from Winterhoff that makes a point a lot of people don't recognize:

"It's sometimes embarrassing. We have such a fantastic car, by the way," he said. "Under the hood, in order to make that car perform like it performs, **is tons of software that all works** [emphasis mine]. And then the key fob doesn't. I mean, I kind of laugh at it now, but, believe me, I wasn't laughing a couple of months ago."

People on this forum like to trash Lucid's software abilities, but
Lucid has a lot of competent Software Engineers working in very complex systems.

Doesn't really matter how great the car is if you can't start it and drive it when you need to. No one is denying that lucid has great engineers, but this is their 2nd car and the first one had many key fob issues from what I understand. It seems like this should have been something basic and obvious that their team should have learned from. The simplest fix would have been to have the functional phone as key with ability to drive from app as back up ready for the gravity at launch. If those two things had been there, no one would be complaining about key fob issues or the fact that only one was given at delivery. Lucid also wouldn't be having these supply chain issues with the key fob as it could have potentially been non-essential.

I don't mind living through early adopter problems, but the basics need to work.

You might need a console replacement
does your phone charger work?
 
might be worth having them look at it if you're in for something else- I know @Cyp said his worked a small amount of the time but ultimately needed replacing
