My GT DCFC charging experience

Ah yes, the Concord. Taylor Swift has a bigger plane. I was surprised how tiny they are. All the seats are coach. I guess one can put up with a lot of torture if it's only for 2 hours.

Wife wants to go to Zurich. I looked up the price of business class ...fentanyl is less expensive. We're flying coach.

The question of charging speed and range anxiety depends a lot on the kind of car you drive and where you are driving. At the risk of broad-stroking,
Exactly. Most EVs on the road have EPA range between 250-300 miles. Real world range is more like 200-240. Going much below 20% and one gets range anxiety (especially with weak charging infrastructure). So we are really talking about most EVs needing to charge every 160-200 miles on a trip and charging way past 80% to get to the next stop. Peak charging speed doesn’t matter at all. More frequent charges requires more stations to eliminate wait time rather than faster chargers.
I drive mostly the I-10 and I-5 routes between Phoenix and the Bay Area. California is blessed with a good number of charging stations along these major routes. The "anxiety" is not that I can't get to the next charging station before I run out of charge. Moreover, it is about broken chargers, slow charging (throttling), and queue time. I don't "wait" for the 350kW charger to open up. I will take the 150kW charger any day if it is open.

I strongly believe the "common good" is better served with MORE 150kW chargers than fewer 350kW chargers that throttle.
I agree 100%. I more often get better speed overall on the 150 kW chargers than the 350. I just take the first one I see. It’s not range anxiety… it’s available charger anxiety. Doubling or tripling the number of 150kW chargers would be a huge benefit.

Okay charged tonight starting at 5%

53 degrees raining but preconditioned for about 25 mins prior to charging manually.

Gained 191 miles in 13 mins

264kW at 5%
233kW at 10% at 1 min
224kW at 15% at 3 mins
207kW at 20% at 4 mins
198kW at 25% at 6 mins
185kW at 30% at 8 mins
180kW at 35% at 10 mins
171kW at 40% at 12 mins
157kW at 45% at 14 mins
146kW at 50% at 16 mins
137kW at 55% at 18 mins

I was planning on charging to 65% like I was mentioning at being the sweet spot buttttttttttttt EA decided to end my charge session randomly so I just left lol...

I was nearly at 60% when it did end.

Guessing I woulda been 65% at 23 minutes.

I should note 61.8kW were delivered in 21 minutes.

For comparison my GV60 and e-tron GT have had…

Audi
69.35kW in 21 minutes
62.13kW in 18 minutes
57.43kW in 17 minutes

Genesis
57.83kW in 18 minutes
