2026 Lucid Gravity DDP
I have a problem with my backup camera not working. it should fix with a reboot but my car won't reboot. (with car in park, I press and hold the brake pedal and then press the "X" and the "voice" buttons and hold them all for more than a minute and nothing happens. I've also tried closing the doors and walking away (a long distance)

is there any other way to reboot the car that anyone knows of?

I spoke with Lucid and their initial answer was to take it in for service. the nearest service center is more than 500 miles away. They said they are going to see if the mobile service guy can try to fix this problem.

Are you pressing all 3 at the same time? By that I mean you are not pressing one button, then the next button, then the brake. Are you starting by pressing all 3 at the same time? If you are a bit off with it, you won't trigger reboot. Plus it should only take about ten seconds before the car initiates soft reboot. Holding for a minute will trigger hard reboot, which you don't want to do too often, if at all.
If you don't get the soft reboot after about 10-20 secs, then let go and immediately try again. I've had it once or twice not trigger and doing it again would get it going.

okay, I'll try that. I was pressing on the brake first and then pressing and holding the other two simultaneously and then continuing to hold all three down for a long time... with no result.

You did it right. You should hear a chime after 15 seconds or so, then you can let go and wait for the reboot.
You do need to be in Park. Don't know if any doors can be open, or not.

You did it right. On mine, after about 15 seconds or so, I get a message on the left side of the top screen (where the efficiency meter is) that says to release the buttons to do the reboot. When you do so, after another 10 or fifteen seconds the screens will go black, and you will see the Gravity message on your screens and the reboot will occur.

Why don’t you want to do the hard reboot too often? I’ve never heard of a hard reboot having a detrimental effect on the car.

Yes, please explain:

Why is rebooting so bad for the system??

I feel like such an idiot but on the off chance I can help someone, I’ll post my foolishness here:

For the reboot to work, one must press on the pedal and the “x” and the “microphone” buttons at the same time. (I was pressing and holding n the pedal down and a brief moment later I was pressing and holding the two buttons…. This didn’t work. They must all be pressed down at the same time and held down until the info pops up on the screen.)

I am also curious why we should minimize the hard reboot.

I'm going on what several have posted here about hard reboots. I am going on trust but cannot give you specifics on why bc I didn't ask. I'm good with using it sparingly. If any of those with more in depth knowledge would like to answer, or someone could start a thread for it.

We're a tough crowd here - data driven and often relentless in the pursuit of robustness! BUT, we're also a knowledgeable group with a strong desire to fix things - pretty cool!

I don't think there is any issue with hard reboots now. I think the sentiment that it may be bad came for the roll out of the hard reboot on the Air. When it first came out, Lucid did not document it in the release notes nor in the manual but the information leaked to the forum. At that time Lucid asked that we not do it unless instructed by customer care. Once Lucid had more experience with it, the concern and restriction went away. It is now documented and used regularly.

Thanks for the clarification! Hard boot away!

This should have worked. I routinely do reboots without pressing the brake at precisely the same instant as the two buttons, as long as it's pretty close in time.

I have also had a couple of occasions where the car would not reboot, so this may not have been caused by your doing something incorrectly.

A Customer Service rep recently told me something I did not know. If you hold the brake and buttons down another 15 or so seconds after the first chime, you will hear a second chime. The gives you a deeper reboot that resets more of the subsystems. He said it doesn't materially increase the time for the systems to reset and that it's a good idea to do all reboots this way.

I know the hard reboot discussion seems to be resolved, but I wanted to add one extra perspective. All reboot options are well documented in the manual. I assume if there would be a problem with frequent use of hard reboot they would add a warning or a note about that in the manual.

Update: Ignore the below. I didn't see one of comments where OP explained what was the actual issue.

I wonder if it is possible to hold it for too long? Manual (v12.2) says for soft reboot you only need to hold all three for 10-15 seconds and for hard reboot 20-25s. If the screens are working and the system is not frozen you should get notification on the left side of the screen saying when you can release the buttons and a chime. One chime for soft reboot and double chimes for hard reboot. In case for frozen system or black screens you will need to count seconds in your head or use a timer.
Maybe if you hold it for too long it will not reboot the car. But I'm pretty sure ~40s was still fine in my case.
