RESOLVED Multiple issues with Lucid

Keep pushing thenm on it. Maybe they can dispatch a mobile service to you and you can demonstrate how it fails at a level 3 charger?

Hi Everyone,

First of all this forum has been very helpful. Thanks to everyone. I just wanted to check if anyone else has faced the laundry list of issues I am facing and what did you do to have Lucid quickly resolve them specially when there is no service center within 100 miles? I am working with King of Prussia, PA mobile service manager, he is good, tries his best but looks like he doesn't get much help from higher ups. I am told that KoP service center is going to be functional soon but so far haven't heard back on any exact date yet.

Below are my list of issues -
  1. DC charging not working (engineering checked logs and says car is not accepting fast chargers, they need to bring the car in for further diagnosis)
  2. Parking lights not working (it has been few months now, remain unresolved)
  3. Windshield washer fluid not working (and it's not empty)
  4. Frunk misalignment (sporadic)
  5. Trunk misalignment (sporadic)
  6. Headlight misalignment (left side projects low level light than right side)
  7. Car pulls towards right in highway assist
  8. Driver side door handle squeaky . Mobile tech stated they are not sure if they can change it under warranty. When car locks/unlocks, it makes a loud rusty sound and it feels an antique)

I can live with all the issues highlighted above except inability to fast charge which essentially means I can only do local city driving which btw sucks. 1 yr of free EA charging is also going unutilized. Please advise.
Sorry you've got so many problems, the charging issue is unacceptable. Like an ICE you can't get any gas into really!

My frunk is also having some issues. It looks like it's opening crooked and needs some help from me to open, otherwise it just locks again. Vancouver is the closest shop for me. They're planning a trip to Alberta, hopeful soon.

I love my lucid and generally have had almost no problems with it, but I wouldn’t accept ANY of the above. Glad to hear that most of the list has been sorted for you by now but all of those things should just be routinely perfect imo. Maybe also press to have your trunk misalignment issue addressed again? Sounds rather annoying, sorry for your troubles!

Very sorry to hear this number of problems. I've had my GT since Nov, 2022, none of those issues. I'd insist on them servicing the car and providing a loaner. I'd also threaten Lemon Law if you get resistance from Lucid. They owe you a fully functioning car. I'm assuming you bought this new.

Thank you folks for suggestions. Yes it's on lease and now looking back, it seems to be a wise decision to not finance it. Lucid service has been difficult to work with so far in this whole situation. Last week when I contacted and asked them to look at logs to troubleshoot issue, they said "field service tech" is in field for the entire week. I don't know what that means. But I will continue to push them. Today, when I went to EA KoP station, again, same issue. It gave "charging error" for first 5-6 attempts. and then it worked for 11 mins, failed. After unplugging and plugging, worked for 5 mins and failed. This time I happen to closely look at error message on EA screen. See below. Says "unexpected proximity lost". This is same error which Lucid mobile tech reported when I first reported this issue in December. Anyone seen this before or is it just me? EA says other cars are charging fine, contact Lucid.

Hi, @kae02. I just sent you a DM.

Adding a few more tears to this river. Last few months since my last post have been pretty frustrating, as while it seems the random trunk unlatching issues have potentially been addressed (only driven a few hundred miles since getting it back so who knows), now the frunk refuses to acknowledge that it is closed and is limiting me to 12 mph. While I imagine I'd get record-breaking efficiency on my 280 mile trip from SF to Bakersfield today at this speed, it unfortunately doesn't suit my schedule. I just don't know what to do at this point other than go down the lemon route :( It's been in the shop for over a month at this point so far, and this feels like my tolerance's breaking point. I really, really want to be a happy customer, but by gar it's darn near impossible with my poor gal. Seems like a good next step would be to try and deal with Lucid before taking legal maneuvers? Apologies if I missed a key part of this thread. I'm feeling like I need a mental service advisor given how today's going.

Also, apologies to anyone who was really looking forward to hearing me play at Lightning in a Bottle today, and feel free to direct your complaints to your nearest Lucid service advisor.

Good news! My issue with DC fast charging seems to have been resolved, at least, based on my initial testing on two different chargers. YaY! YaY!

Steve and Dana at KoP service center were very knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommend for complex issues.

Sharing summary -

Concern: Customer states he is having issues charging at public chargers. Field Service rep is aware and has requested unit to come in for further
diagnostics.

Cause: Performed initial Vehicle Report and found DTC P108386 stored. Confirmed DC fast charge issue with customer's supplied screenshots and
timestamps. Case opened, performed diagnostic procedure for P108386 and found loose ground bolt at the charge cable due to cross-
threaded bolt in charge port mechanism bracket.

Corrections: Replaced Charge Port Mechanism Bracket from known good warranty return part. Cleaned both ground terminals and body ground tab
with isopropyl alcohol, flattened brown ground terminal and reinstall ground bolt T30 torqued to 10 Nm. Checked continuity between Charge Port ground
and LH lower frame rail ground, 0.11 ohms. Performed 2 DC fast charge 15 minute sessions with CSVs before and after each charge session. Code did
not return, vehicle is now charging normally.
