Muffled audio on Bluetooth phone calls

My phone quality is great. First go in to car settings and make sure Bluetooth volume is set to max. If phone quality is still bad, might need service. I remember some owners in past with similar issue were told it had something to do with microphones in car.

Our Audio team is working hard on this for an upcoming release. I will be sure to share an update when there is more information.

But doesn't that just increase the volume of the sound, and not the quality? And does that improve the audio to you as the Gravity driver? or to the person you're calling?

On my recent build (Dec 2025), Bluetooth audio "hiccups" every few minutes. On both our phones (iPhone 17 Pro & 13 Pro Max), neither of which did that on our old Teslas.
 
I'll add that I'm using the Apple Music app, playing from a list of previously downloaded songs, so phone connectivity to the internet is not the issue.

As for phone conversation quality, my wife said I sounded fine calling her from the car, although I was stationary at the time.
 
I have the same issue. People tell me my phone doesn't work so I explain I'm in 123k lucid :-( then I switch to earpods and that works well BUT: every 5min Lucid takes the callback it’s so annoying. I also own a Mercedes EQS. They have a button that says: relinquish call to phone. You do that amdniys done. Please while you work on that audio problem which makes the car unusable for work for me at least solve the hand off button. I want to be able switch call to phone. Thanks for all your efforts! Other than the phone thing I love the car!!!
 
For those who think it must be a hardware problem, please understand that combining multiple microphones and processing the sound in certain ways allows them to make the mics act as though they are a single virtual microphone best positioned to enhance the speaker and filter out background noise. But that takes careful tuning, and that tuning is handled in the software realm.
 
Some respite for those who have the Bluetooth audio issue on phone calls. I found that any call using WhatsApp VoIP was much clear and conversational. Try it please and let me know if u have same experience. The regular call are just horrible but same call to same person using WhatsApp audio were much better
 
Here's hoping they finally fix the BT phone issues in the Air. Driving with a friend in my AT the other day and I had to make a call. Popped in my earbuds. He looked at me and said "seriously, in a $90k car" Not only embarrassing, but it's also actually illegal in many states to use earbuds while driving.
 
I have the same problem. The only real disappointment, but an important one.
 
Makes the car useless to me . I need to make Val’s while driving and when I use my earbuds the car keeps taking the call back .
 
On top of the MANY, MANY issues i'm having w/ my 4 week old GGT, I, too suffer from very poor BT call quality. I know this reply is redundant to previous posts but I figure the more replys to the issue, the more lucid may hold as a priority.

You posted this on the day they are sending the fix for this.

Not sure if you're following things closely, but a big bug fix was released today and will be updating all vehicles over the next couple weeks. Notes say that the BT call quality is much improved. Fingers crossed...
 
I have been researching the ongoing Microphone software/hardware issues. It apprears that the last update that was tried was in Decemenber, '26 Air Touring still very much a reject, even with the reboot, and reset nothing has improved in my calling. It is not only frustrating it is crazy making....state of the art and we have a bug that affects me deeply on a daily basis. This is a user nightmare, being it is taken for granted that the pairing and phone use is paramount in many peoples daily driving requirments, it is not a good to have, it is a need to have. I have to use my speak on my phone held in my hand, This is nothing that I would have expected to continue as long as it has.
What is the expected timeline in finding some solution to this issue,
 
The Bluetooth call quality, according to my wife who talked to me when I was driving, hasn't improved one bit. Now that I was able to talk to her while she was driving, I can confirm that the BT audio still sounds very bad, and her voice seems to be even lower in volume than before. When she switched to the speaker, it was night and day in terms of volume, clarity, and background noise.
