Last night, my wife and I were leaving a restaurant around 8PM. As we entered our AGT, it unfortunately selected my wife’s profile, despite the fact I was going to drive. To avoid being squished, I quickly selected my profile. The vehicle did change to my profile and seat settings, but the cockpit panel went black and failed to load. It would also not allow me to select reverse or drive. I tried an Air logo reset without any response. A “Bobby” reset was also unsuccessful. I even tried a nuclear reset (brake, leftmost steering wheel button and emergency flasher button, right?) Nothing!

I finally called roadside assistance around 8:15PM, hoping they could remotely diagnose things and walk me through a fix. The heavily accented gentleman who answered said that it was “closed” and he represented a third party company and the only thing he could do was call a tow truck. Really? We are only allowed to break down between 9 and 5?? I declined and called a friend for a ride. I locked to vehicle and went inside the restaurant to explain why it would be in their lot overnight. Fortunately, when I returned and unlocked it, it finally reset and everything functioned, allowing me to drive home with my friend following for insurance.

Ok, venting done…

You did the nuclear reset wrong. It’s brake, microphone, and X keys on the steering wheel. Would have solved it.

Info about the various resets can be found at www.lucidupdates.com.

Yea, thought I might have confused that with my Rivian reset. But when did the roadside assistance team switch to banker’s hours?

apparently they don’t receive enough calls to “justify” staying open for when a software problem occurs. SO when a problem does happen ( in non-business hours) the solution is always to tow the car, potentially hundreds of miles.

Really? They offered a tow which is what should be expected that time of night. Tell me which car company offers 24/7 customer support for troubleshooting issues.

Something similar happened to me last weekend but I was at home. I tried the logo reset but it didn't fix it. I then did the hard reset by turning the blinker and locking the car. I had to leave since I had to pick my kid up and when I came back about 30 mins later the car was working fine. I need a backup car just for such scenarios .....

Blinker has absolutely nothing to do with a reset. It simply shows you when the car has gone to sleep (contacters release). A hard rest is a different procedure. There is a thorough FAQ on this at www.lucidupdates.com.
