Mobile App registers the car but not my profile

At first, the app did not recognize the car. Tech support plus "cloud" caused it to magically appear. But when I use the app to open the car it registers me as guest, ignoring all of my profile settings and, worse, my profile is then nowhere to be found. When they use the key fob the profile is there. On my third call to tech support I was told this problem "was expected." When I pressed further it seems that the problem is unintended, but many are complaining and so it did not come as a surprise.

Anyone here have the same problem?

The app isnt a "phone as key" yet, so the profile won't come up unless you use the key card or fob
theyve been promising this feature (that the Air currently has) for a while now- hopefully we get it by the spring

Can I save my preferences into the app's "Guest"?

You’ll need the key card or key fob to drive it so why bother?

The key card also only opens the car for "guest," and the key fob has to be immediately next to the door to work. The app has a much longer range.
