Midsize Hardware on Air

I'm a little early here, but my lease is ending in January 2027, so have started thinking about next steps. As much as I love my Air, I think getting another 3 year lease in 2027 would be a tough pill for me to swallow knowing the Air will be two generations behind Lucid's midsize vehicle coming out in 2026.

When do folks think Lucid will come out with Gen 2 of the Air? Is it perhaps worth extending my lease by 12-18 months in hopes of Gen 2? Anything else people think I should consider?

I value the way the air drives a lot, but also really value autonomous tech for when I'm commuting or on phone calls. Having Gravity-level charging speeds would be great too!

They really need to. It should include at the very least:
1. NACS with 926V architecture and voltage-boosting tech
2. Replacement of current unlocking/locking system with UWB/NFC and Apple digital key
3. UI/UX components from Gravity

After midsize ramp up. So expect 2029/2030?

I think they have a timeline out for L4 and it's not till 2029 2030 anyway. 2026 for point-to-point L2++ (Gravity SUV), 2028 for Level 3 (eyes-off), and 2029 for Level 4 (fully autonomous)on its upcoming midsize vehicle platform. My assumption is that 2027 airs will have the same capabilities as the gravity that will get you L2++ and honestly all the DDpro airs should get L2++ in my opinion but not sure about if hardware needs to be changed for that to happen. I am in a similar boat as you but mine is up July 2027 and I don't think they will have ramped up by then. I was told you can extend your lease by 6 months if that helps. Also if you purchase the car at the end of the lease I have heard they have been giving good deals on those cars so if it works out to be similar to a lease payment maybe you could go that route then use it as a trade in when the midsize you want comes out.
