Sounds like a GPS reception issue. My friend's BMW had the same kind of issue, and the problem was that the antenna went bad and the car couldn't receive GPS, so it couldn't determine it's location. I have no idea where the GPS receiver is in the Air. If you've tried the X-mike-brake reboot, and have let it deep sleep for a couple hours, I've got no suggestions for you.
