Lucid service

My recent service experience at Goose Island was bittersweet. The staff was friendly, courteous and efficient. They even loaned me a Air GT for the afternoon. My car was returned washed and in good condition.

I brought the car in for its yearly checkup. I almost passed out when I received the invoice. Last year it was $350 plus tax from mobile service. This year was just under $600 including tax. I asked why the difference was so great. I was told that last year was the "A" service and this year was the "B" service. No one asked which one I preferred when I arrived. Other than changing the brake fluid I don't see much difference between A & B. The popular perception is that EVs are more economical to maintain than ICE vehicles. I beg to differ. We keep our ICE car in great shape and spend about $250 a year for oil changes and fluid flushes and changes. On our ICE car I can easily change the wiper blades and cabin air filter. While I'm sure the more mechanically able among you can accomplish this on the Lucid, it's more complex and difficult than on the average ICE car.
