Hey everyone, I was wondering about Lucid's tire service.

I asked about it while discussing another car issue, and they connected me with a local technician to schedule it. The tech mentioned that he does tire rotations at your home but doesn't have the equipment to balance the tires.

He quoted around $65 for the service, plus local taxes.

Now, I have a few questions:

1) Has anyone used this service? Are there any downsides that I should be aware of?
-- From a January Thread, I saw they have posts that "levitate the car."

2) Where do you usually go to get your tires balanced?

3) Do you have any recommendations for other maintenance tasks around the 40k mark?

I'm considering the tire rotation, but have you taken your tires elsewhere for a proper rotation and balance? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I use Costco to rotate and balance my tires on our Tesla and will probably use them for my Air as well. Any tire shop should be able to do it; most shops that have issues or worries about working on an EV will tell you. The issues you are asking about are pretty much standard for all cars; however, lifting the cars is the issue; they need additional equipment for lifting correctly. That is the question you should ask, can they properly lift your car due to its unique design safely, i.e. battery etc. Additionally, if you take your car in to a Lucid service center or use the mobile service, as a courtesy they inspect your tires and will let you know if any service is required; rotation, etc.

Anybody with any experience in a newer model year Lucid Air Grand Touring? How do the interior and ride quality stack up against an S-Class? I'm currently in a S580e and contemplating going all-electric. The EQS really doesn't interest me, and it looks like it will be a few years until the "real" S gets an electric version.

@ncodec - I just last week for the first time had Lucid's Seattle mobile unit (not a van! another Air nicer than mine!) come out to swap and rotate the winter wheels on in my driveway. I bought the winter wheels + tires package from Lucid a year ago, so the tires came factory-mounted (and balanced), have not yet dealt with any balancing issues. 100% delighted with $60 to swap and rotate my wheels seasonally in my driveway, plus two service bulletins done too.
I mount and balance my own motorcycle wheels but different enough I won't do Lucid tire mounting and wheel balancing when the time comes.
I agree with @actnjack that safely lifting the car is the most important thing to take care to find and select in a shop.
I hope and assume my local Lucid service center will do this for me when the time comes, mobile or not. We'll see.

Discount Tire can handle this too - they (usually) know what they are doing. I just make it a point to ask if they know the specifics when I take my car in and make sure they aren’t learning on my car.

How did they lift the car? 1 or 2 jacks?

The time it would take me to drive the car in and wait around to get this done is way too long, I just do the rotation at home though you need a spare or a winter/summer set.
$65 and they come to your car, I might actually use that...

Sorry I didn't watch - I was working, from home.
I don't think there's yet a consensus on the forum on whether 1 or 2 jacks should be used because of the weight. I was told one, but others thought 2.
Thanks, though.
