Lucid Gravity GT Stuck Third Row

Hello Everyone

Picked up the Lucid Gravity GT a few months ago, ever since I got it the third row seat (left one only) will not collapse in the trunk. I can pull the strap to lower it flat but the lever on the back to release it to allow me to store it in the trunk won't release it. Has anyone had this happen and is there a fix? Getting into service has been pretty tough hoping someone has a DIY fix.

I got the same issue, no video required. Worked fine and suddenly pulling the handle to stow it, it just doesn’t move unless extreme force is used. Driver side.

Same left 3rd row seat happened to me on October when I got mine. They fixed it at first service 2 weeks later

Noted! I asked for a video not out of disbelief but so that I could see what was going on. Sounds like they’re not alone though.

Common issue, both ours had this at delivery for one side and the other side for one broke later.

The early versions of the wire that locks/unlocks is super fragile and easy to break if you brute force the handle. During our GT delivery I might've broke it while testing it the Lucid guy said but still added to my due bill.

Later on SC mentioned they were looking into improving that part so maybe later cars got a stronger wire

Mine had the same issue. Service fixed it really quick.

The bigger issue was my third row driver side headrest would not drop when clicking the button on the touch screen. They had to replace the entire seat to get that fixed

Good for Lucid for making sure it's fixed.
Not dropping those headrests (when no one's sitting back there of course) was VERY concerning to me on my 1st test drive. They make an already constricted view out the back window much worse! I can see why this was a problem for you.
I was SO relieved when I learned you could drop them from the Pilot panel on my 2nd test drive.

Not dropping those headrests (when no one's sitting back there of course) was VERY concerning to me on my 1st test drive. They make an already constricted view out the back window much worse! I can see why this was a problem for you.
I was SO relieved when I learned you could drop them from the Pilot panel on my 2nd test drive.

My trick with my grandkids when they were riding in the third row in my Durango HellCat was to drop the third row headrests on their heads when they weren’t looking. Lots of giggles!

Gravity won’t let you lower them while driving… took away a lot of fun!

I lower my headrests while driving just fine, it’s the weight check that stops em for you.

The seats have an electrical connection in order for that to work; given the seats likely are manufactured by a 3rd party, I suspect it is simply easier to swap the seat and send them back the broken unit for refurbishment/replacement (or trash it, I guess) than it would be to 'fix' the seat.

Thanks for the replies! So it sounds like no way around it. I am pretty handy and was debating trying to fix myself but it sounds like a service call is needed in order to fix. Was trying to avoid going in for service as it's many months until I can get in

It’s definitely safe to drive, at least, if annoying.

Been living with it for months just would like the ability to tear the back down completely to load stuff in and out.

Just got my GGT back from service. They fixed all the items on my list. BUT , the 3rd row left seat will not stow, just the OP and others on this thread. Have to hope a mobile tech can fix it quickly. Also a rear tire now is low.

I found this thread in Google. The third row on my loaner just doesn’t seem right, takes a lot of force.

Also they slam up and down when stowed over every speed bump, did I not latch something right?

I think this can be resolved. There is a known solution for the third row seat not stowing (a locking cable needed a fix), and at the same time they adjusted an angle on the seats that keep them well in place (for the speed bump example you gave). It solved it in my case and is an item I would work with Lucid service. Once this wrinkle was ironed-out, it has worked well for me with no further problems.

ok, this is a loaner from Lucid so I guess they haven't done the update yet. The rear wiper doesn't spray either.

Happy to help -- the rear wiper should be fixable too. You can also keep a road trip small blanket or cargo pad between the trunk lid and the folded third row seats. I use the pad to keep an item from getting the side walls of the trunk dirty or seats scratched with some cargo. The road trip blanket is for enjoying the coastal views from the frunk bench during windy or cold days. It may also help, but I've had no problem with the seats going up and down since their adjustment of the third row.
