Does anyone know why Lucid Assistant voice activation in the Gravity will neither enter a navigation address nor make a music selection?

Lucid Assistant does both these things in our Air and has since we first got it four years ago.

In our Air, if we're on the road and someone wants to stop somewhere (such as a Starbucks, for example), all I have to say to is "hey, Lucid, drive to nearest Starbucks" and the address pops up. In the Gravity, you have to pull off the road and go into the search function. If you want to change a song or audio source, someone has to punch it in while the car is moving -- something that can take quite a while for song titles.

I wad thinking about upgrading the chip in our Air so that it could load UX 3.0 when it becomes available for the Air, but when I found this out I decided to stick with UX 2.0.

Picking music or navigating somewhere are literally the only two things I would ever use voice commands for, and for some reason this car does neither. I’m baffled.

Same here. Our first Gravity that was delivered in June accepted voice commands for navigation and music. But now it doesn't, and the two Gravities we've purchased since haven't had the feature from the get-go. So either Lucid deliberately disabled it for some reason, or it has failed across the whole fleet. We can still control audio volume with voice activation which, as you say, is far less useful than being able to select music.

May not be related, but I had her (Lucid Assistant) ignoring me completely on Saturday night. I stopped, did a reboot, and we're back on speaking terms. It also fixed some issues where the left d-pad was not seeing every click.

The only thing I rely on Lucid Assistant to do is make phone calls which it is 95% successful. If I need to use navigation, I usually try to enter location by hand before leaving as using LA has only been about 70% successful. If you start driving by yourself and plan on using LA to navigate, if it then fails, you now have to pull over to safely enter location manually, so better to just do it ahead of time before leaving.

As for music or controlling car functions, LA does not work. With so much of Gravity functions buried into the touch screen (which quite often takes multiple taps to accept an input), it is more important than ever that we have decent voice control abilities.

. . . so better to just do it ahead of time before leaving.

This is what I usually do. But sometimes you want to divert en route, such as my earlier example of deciding to look for a Starbucks while driving.

Something else, too -- on long trips we switch drivers periodically. But when the driver profile is switched, you lose the navigation destination the first driver set, and you have to do it again.

I just tested both Navigation and changing Audio source.
For Navigation, it worked with no problem. I tested "Home" and a few stores and it understood the commands and started navigating. It even complemented my charming Argentinean accent... For audio, it understood the commands as it showed them on the screen. For some, it went to "Thinking..." and did nothing. For others, it said it couldn't do it ("Voice commands are not allowed to control Tidal" or something similar).
As @hmp10 has mentioned many times, it's a constant case of different vehicles showing different behaviors.
