Lucid Announces Timothée Chalamet as Our First-Ever Global Brand Ambassador

I keep wondering what the money they're paying Chalemet would do in pointed at actual car development....
There is a reason the advertising industry is over $1 trillion. Companies pay for advertising because they end up making more money than they spend. Increased revenue means more dollars available to reinvest in the business.

I highly recommend screening the series “Madmen”. A fictionalized take on late 50s to early 70s rise of Madison Ave. This will give you an idea of the scope and power of advertising firms shaping how Americans consumers spent their expendable income. The writing and acting are top notch.

The whole Chalamet campaign was a bizarre and mostly pointless vanity project though. Big waste of money.

However, they’re new focus on content relevant , localized influencers is having much better results I think.

Sure, but in Lucid's case I don't think hiring A-list directors and A-list actors to make commercials that turn off Lucid's primary market segment was a good investment. All the reviews that complained about software bugs hurt Gravity sales far more than Chalemet's Gravity stealing commercial helped.

Literally no one associates Chalemet with Lucid. He is dating a Kardashian and they’re competing against all media and that headline. Stupid. Shoulda picked some car influencers on YouTube, which they have now done.

He does drive an Air though.

I saw saw the ad on the Oscars last night

It is always..uhh..interesting to hear lay people talk about advertising. ;)

I saw the ad too and I really think Lucid need to rethink their advertising strategy... "what is this thing" and a quick flash of a Gravity. Do they really think that someone unfamiliar with the brand will jump on the internet to research what the "thing is." A great actor but Chalamet lacks some credible humility to be an ambassador for the brand.
