My advice would always be to at least wait a few weeks for the public beta. If you feel you really want to try something before it’s quite ready.

The developer beta is really for developers. So they can get enough time to test their own apps against the new system before the public starts bombarding them with bug reports.
 
Found another issue. When a call came in via Car Play the audio source I was playing did not mute as it usually does. That was a problem with several audio sources, so Apple broke something. Hopefully fixed in the next iOS beta update.

Fair warning, some beta's are fine and others can be problematic. I haven't run into any significant issues with iOS 27 but it was either iOS 26 or iOS 18 where the early beta's killed the Lucid App and in the event something like that happens, you need to be prepared to wait for it to be fixed. Most companies won't support you when issues arise from you running beta software and you'll simply be told "it'll be fixed by the public release" which could be months.

I would wait for the public beta in July. By then it should be fairly well sorted out.
 
I have an Air loaner and iOS 27 finally stopped connecting the the UX. To be fair, I haven't messed with it, as my car should be back soon, however it was working and then - poof - no connection and the car does not recognize the phone. Not Lucid issue, for sure.
 
Follow-up

Beta 2 dropped today and CarPlay loaded to my loaner Air no problem. (Beta much snappier, as well 😊
