I am shopping for a smaller around town EV and I am considering an Audi Q4 etron Sportback. After a few test drives of various etron models, some conclusions:
1. Ride. The Audi etrons ride smoother than the Lucid Air. Less impact hardness. Noticeable.
2. Noise. The biggest difference. The Audi etron is substantially quieter. Less road noise, wind noise, motor noise. I think this is an area that Lucid should target for improvement and refinement.
3. Handling. Advantage to Lucid and it’s not close. Lucid is much more engaging.
4. Efficiency. Advantage Lucid by a mile (literally). Audi etrons struggle to achieve even close to 3mi/kwh. No one pedal driving, regen was engineered to be weak to minimize the driving difference with Audi ICE vehicles. Too bad. I have easily exceeded 4 mi/kwh with the Lucid if I try.
5. Style. Subjective but I think the Lucid Air is the most beautiful car on the market. Interior, small victory to Audi with better materials and a more luxury look and feel.
