Lucid Air G.T.P. with 21 Inch Wheel / Summer Tires : 446 mile is possible*

I challenged myself to see if I could achieve 446 miles or 446 / 118 = 3.779 kWh in my Lucid Air G.T.P. with 21 Inch Wheel / Summer Times (PZ4 Elec, LM2)

It was also trying to distract myself from THE WORSE CLICKING Rattling from the headliner right underneath my roof bow (scheduled for warranty in two weeks).

SOME HOW I ACHIEVED 3.80 kWh exactly 11 miles used matching the range trip indicator.

2.8.7 Software is required as it changes the Accelerator Pedal Feel along with the Regenerative breaking modulation and sensitivity.

*Note* : It was 68 degrees outside. Mix of expressway and local driving. Speeds never exceeded 65 GPS MPH. I have CCCv2 upgrade.

Requirements to Achieve EPA Range :

  1. Have 2.8.7 Software as the previous software's were not achievable no matter the circumstances.
  2. Drive like you have a 2015 with only 134 Horsepower.
  3. Don't use your brake pedal for any deceleration at all that's miles per kWh boost.
  4. When braking gradually lift off the throttle over a period of time instead of Lifting the poot entirely at once and having high sudden regen.
  5. Use only the fans in climate settings.
  6. The AC cannot be used, once you fire that thing up the effiency starts draining quicker.
My Takeaway :
  1. The EPA range is achievable with the latest Software and right driving conditions.
  2. I would probably never do that again unless there was some local Lucid hyper miling challenge.
    • All Lucid's have horsepower on tap and it feels really underwhelming to restrict yourself for the sake of achieving the EPA range.
  3. They REALLY need to allow owners of previous year Lucid Air's to be able to update/retrofit the AC module if it takes as much as 0.20 kWh away from just running it alone.
    • Just like how CCCv2 was an upgradeable option recently.

Challenge partially accepted! I have achieved some robust results on 2.8.9. lol.
Mix of city, highway, and express way but never exceeded 70 GPS mph :(.

Haha over 11 miles. I just achieved a possible 15000 mile range by staying parked in my garage - the most efficient it can possibly be as it uses no energy at all.

Totally defeats the entire purpose of the specific model you bought - dang.

I guess removing the GT-P badge from the trunk increased your range? ;)
 
I have some fantasy about doing this, but then I read the bit about not over 65mph. I'll leave it to others to hypermile.

Well done. Couldn’t agree more regarding an AC module upgrade.
 
I have never tested my Lucid Air GT in ideal conditions but I coud not get more than 2.7kW/mile. The battery drains fast (California- A/C).
What are the ideal conditions and distance I have to go to test the battery?

Wow, 2.7 kW/mile? That tells me you’re driving around between 85 mph to 90 mph, on continuously climbing uphill grades all day long.

I’m being partially facetious. I own a Sep 2022-build Air GT with 19” rims. The lowest I’ve seen in three years of ownership is 2.5 kWh, and that was while driving 140 miles to work on a cold (for Southern California), rainy, very windy day.

Every year my partner and I drive from San Diego to Denver CO and back. We take this trip every July. There’s a 5000 foot net elevation gain driving to Denver. If we drive at 80 mph all day long, we see efficiency drop to around 2.7 to 2.9 kWh/mile.

I’m averaging 3.4 kWh/mile in my Air GT. That’s over three years and 71,000 miles of ownership, a pretty heavy foot on SoCal’s freeways, and HVAC on and running 100% of the time.

How many miles are on your Air GT? There is a perceptible gain in efficiency past the 2000 to 2500 mile mark. Beyond that I’d say, have your car checked out by Lucid Service.

I also watch my efficiency ratings, but my wife doesn't and runs the AC a lot more than I do, so anything Lucid can do to improve AC efficiency would be most appreciated. Not holding my breath...

21 inch wheels and yes 75 miles freeway + AC glass roof but some people post 3.4kW/mile
 
I have achieved a new miles per kWh (4.42 mi/kWh) record on software 2.8.30 with A/C running (set to 72) in 90 degree weather it's a MIRACLE!
