License plate costs

So we’re renewing our plates and here in Wisconsin my plates are 392/yr with about 170 being an adder for ev
I know that when I lived in Virginia the state buried a property tax also but we don’t here.
What else do people pay for annual tags. No vanity plates for this price

MN is way more expensive. The base renewal fee and the EV fee both scale in value. I renewed my Gravity GT plates and it was $1996 for one year. The EV fee was almost $500.

around 350/year in Idaho with a $185 penalty for owning an EV

$1140 in CA for a Gravity Grand Touring that has everything except the tech package and tow package.

In Virginia I pay $2 for two years' registration due to being a disabled veteran. Unfortunately, Virginia charges personal property tax for your vehicle, paid to your city or county. I only had my Air for a few months, so I'm not sure how much my bill will be. I'm worried it'll be about a grand or at least several hundred.

Ohio has a $200 EV fee for plate registration renewal, sadly. Still better than buying gas!

Yeah Illinois is $100 more and I think I heard it’s going to be $150 more soon. The reason states do this is to cover the road use taxes that they add to each gallon of fuel you buy in each state. If you drive a lot, you’re still likely coming out ahead, for now.
