I've had mostly great luck with my Gravity since getting it 6 weeks ago. However, that left trackpad is terrible, like many others from what I see here on the forums. Mine often takes 5-6 clicks to make it function...and I'm afraid I won't be able to reset soon.

(I'm not sure what advantage these had over 4-way wheels like my Tesla M3. If you're not dragging anything or pinching to zoom, then these "trackpads" are in essence, just 4 way clickers. Oh well, if they worked well, I wouldn't mind them...)

So has anyone gotten theirs fixed via mobile or is a SC visit required?

We just had our steering wheel replaced and I also noticed the Drive Assist adjustments seem non-responsive, but I think there's a strong likelihood this is a software (3.3.20+) issue. When I press the keypad to adjust follow distance or set speed it does respond -- just a second or so later. This is definitely something I'm keeping an eye on.

many posters on here have reported needing a new steering wheel because one or the other thumb pads aren't working so well
I think some have had the mobile service accomplish the swap...maybe ask @hmp10

Personally, I love the ability to swipe down (or up) on the right trackpad to change the right side of the Clearview Panel between Map, home, etc. Clicking is so outdated... :)

This post is old, so maybe you have resolved this, but we had to have our steering wheel replaced at the SC when our left pad stopped working (and why does it always seem like it is the left pad and never the right?). I can't say for sure if it could have been done with mobile service because we needed them to look at other items.
 
Has this been determined to be HW and not SW? We had our steering wheel replaced due to the DreamDrive sensors stopping working, and the left pad does seem very unresponsive. It sometimes feels better after a reboot, though.
 
As a check, see if you can swipe left to right to change the left-hand side of the Instrument Cluster (you might have to enable that in settings first, though).

The DreamDrive software is notoriously bad at responding to inputs, which can appear as a hardware issue.
 
I had one drive out for dinner where it was working well for the trip there with DD2Pro, then worked hardly at all for the trip home. I did a soft reset and it was back to working well. Always seems to be the left DPad and usually while doing Dream Drive features, right has never failed to take input. I think it might be more of a software issue than a hardware one. That, and people knowing where the sweet spots are for clicking.

I think its SW
I had my wheel replaced and DD Pro worked great
Then I had a road trip and the X and adjust speed buttons worked fine for the whole 150 mile trip down
BUT on the way back I had to use multiple presses for the X or the speed adjust- meanwhile the swiping of the pad to show the trip or the dynamic range and the DD button itself worked fine so if it was hardware then I'd doubt those would work
I rebooted at home because of another reason and the DD buttons work fine for me now

Sounds like this next update that just started leaking 3.3.4 MIGHT address exactly what I was thinking in that short. I see it in the notes about it, I hope its TRUE.
 
Yes...would love to hear this was always just software!
