Lane departure vibration sounds terrible

Ok this is be being very nit picky and probably a sign that I don't have any real issue with the Gravity.

Does anyone else find the lane departure vibration a bit too... rattley?

I'm not sure if this is intentional, but it really sounds cheap.

I noticed that too and agree that it's in the nit picky category . Sometimes on a curved off-ramp if I end up a little on the painted line, it vibrates and pushes back hard. First couple of times, I didn't even realize why it was getting worked up. Maybe there will be a setting at some point to tone that vibration down.

Its strong for sure. Even when I forcefully hold the wheel to push through the lane marker, it actually will push me back into the lane.

But its the sound, the rattling that actually bothers me more. It just sounds cheap, and I'm not even sure why it has to make a sound at all.

Is it different from the Air's? My AGT's lane departure wind-up buzzer is out of character with the rest of the car.

Ok well that answers that. I assume that sound is by design. Yuck.

It could be that the noise and vibration is primarily targeted at waking someone who's going out of the lane because they've fallen asleep. It might need to be obnoxious to achieve that? Haven't heard/felt it myself, so just spitballing here. My Toyota has no vibration, but it does have a fairly obnoxious beep for lane departure. It's also quite picky, and so will sometimes trigger if I'm giving a truck a wide berth. But I leave it on, because I figure it might save my life some day.

Agreed - in general I'm supportive of those types of safety warnings being more conspicuous, not less. It can be annoying though; the Air's lane departure warning is more sensitive than my previous car's and it will start to vibrate when I'm still pretty centered in the lane.

It’s just as annoying in my R1S, so I don’t really notice it. It does make me fear crossing the line! But I am also afraid to turn it off (I turned sound off and kept vibration)…

I turned that garbage off as soon as I got my Air. I've taken ramps to merge where it tried to ease me back into a lane that wasn't even there anymore. And its also crazy overtuned where I have to fight against it every time I cross into the shoulder to go around something or maneuver around someone veering into my lane.

It will actively steer into obstacles because of a road line... more of a hazard than it is a safety feature. The sound of the vibration is the least of the problems if you ask me.

I have it off as well. It is especially annoying and borderline dangerous in construction zones where the lanes have been "re-painted". I fear it will be worse in winter with ice on the road where it might aggressively try to over-correct and cause issues.

I left the vibration but turned off the “assistance’ back into the lane. I agree, it does more harm than good when you actually need to be out of the lane. Which in city driving happens a lot.

I put up with the vibration because I hate having the constant warning light when it’s completely off.
