'Knock' feel in steer wheel at low speeds after 2.6.16 update

I’ve posted my resolution to the suspension clunk in another thread here:

Summary: it was my front left wheel bearing that was making the noise. Hard to believe but techs checked all front end links and torque values - even replaced the spring/strut to no avail.

The issue described here is definitely related to the airbag in some way.
When disassembled and disconnected the steering wheel airbag - steering wheel rotation never produces this sound/bump/click anymore

I took 2psc of the door sealant (cut the part 3mm high approx) + put anti-squeak tape 1mm thick and put them under the top part of the airbag on the left and right. So it the top part doesn't vibrate/move. The knocking was rectified completely. The horn still works as normall
