Here's another review that popped up on YouTube for me; the pros/cons are very similar to other reviews, where the driving + space + comfort are up-notch but its potential is stymied by software and fob issues (I guess if you're here none of that is a surprise). I was encouraged to see her explaining what Lucid is at Tesla Superchargers; I haven't had that experience yet, though I've had a bunch of people do double takes when looking at my car (and I'm in the Bay Area, so plenty of Teslas around here).

This was an overwhelmingly positive review.

As they noted though, Lucid does need to switch to using Google Places instead of HERE's rough and limited POI database. Or better, just upgrade to Google maps. Funny to see a phone sitting on the dash of a $120K vehicle so it can navigate.

Personally I don’t want Google anywhere near me, but can admit this mapping system they have is inferior to any other option. I think Mercedes has it too.

iPhone users would be using CarPlay anyway to get Apple maps. No point in penalizing the other half of us just because some don't like Google.

I want the car to have top capability on its own without the band-aid of adding a connected phone.

I think this review is the most practical and helpful for likely Gravity buyers out of all of them, and I agree with her positive take on these things. She’s always been pretty fair. I hope I’m wrong but I’d guess CarPlay and AA approval are not happening any time soon given how issue plagued Gravity software stability has been.

Wait, “PJ”. Who is this PJ? Is that Java Kim’s original husband, or did she remarry? I don’t recognise PJ from Java Kim’s early youtube days, but then again in those days I hardly paid attention to who her husband was, or what he looked like.

I agree... Seeing her using her phone on the dashboard reminded me of some owners here mentioning they drive with their air pods on so they can take phone calls on the car. "Compromise nothing..."

It’s amusing to me as I actually feel like the compromise nothing approach is making early adopters have to endure all sorts of compromises, most of them mild thankfully. Like a whole new OS and hoping to get Apple Car Key IS innovative and the idea is to have fewer compromises eventually but is likely causing all sorts of delays in making things stable, so for now if you want to get sent to the correct location the most reliable way is your phone.

I have a Mercedes that I believe uses the HERE mapping POI. While I admit that it will sometimes have trouble finding a certain POI compared to Google, once I have set a destination and are driving, I have never had any of the mid drive issues that some people have mentioned here about Gravity loosing track, routing them off freeway, around in circles, etc. So to me, there are two issues present with Gravity. Using HERE mapping may cause occasional issues finding a POI (some have used workaround of entering actual address) but the issues of navigation going wonky mid drive and sending you off in circles appears to possibly be a Lucid implementation issue.

There is something to be said for the Slate Truck approach. No system, just a place to snap in your phone.

The Lucid assistant actually answers you?!??! I would say 90% of my attempts it just spins and turns off.
