So far, so good. I brought it back to the house to charge it up and now I have a question. The car is in the garage charging. The fan is running underneath the hood. Is that normal? The car is locked up.

Congrats! Yes, very normal. Its been discussed in a few other threads but the minimum fan speed is audible regardless of heat output from charging. Hopefully that's tweaked soon

yes. Completely normal. And be happy the fans are running as it will protect your battery in the long run.
