Much though people like Musk bad-mouth short sellers, they do provide a useful contrary view on companies that is a useful part of the market setting a fair price for a company. Musk hates them because his companies are so dependent on hype, and at some level he fears what will happen if his companies were priced according to any conventional standard. There's a reason why most companies spend no time complaining about short selling, and Lucid shouldn't (and I hope doesn't) spend any of their time thinking about them.
