Is the glass canopy better tinted on the gravity than the air

2022 lucid air grand tour
Hi, I’m awaiting delivery of the gravity, I’m in New York , so it isn’t so hot all the time here, but I remember my lucid air grand touring my kids in the back seat and the sun would glare in their eyes and I needed to tint it more and get the sunshade canopy, does any one have any experience with both lucid cars? I’m reading that the factory glass canopy on the gravity rejects the sun better than the air, if anyone has any facts they experienced on their own can u share, I’m debating on whether or not to buy the canopy sun shade for the gravity
 
Also in NY. Of course I haven't experienced summer with the Gravity yet, but so far I've had no need for them, I think the tint works very well and the sunshades dilute the open glass experience. Hope I don't have to come back to this post in a few months to eat my words 🙂

We have a 2022 Air and two Gravities in south Florida. We have the sunshade inserts in all three cars. The Gravity sunshades were installed at the delivery center before we put the cars on the road, so my impressions are limited. I can't speak to glare at all. However, I do find that the Gravity cabins seem to heat up less when sitting in the sun for prolonged periods. I didn't ever find the Air cabin intolerable in the first year or so before we installed the sunshades, but it really put the A/C through its paces. The Gravities' A/C is considerably more robust, though. I know the A/C system has been upgraded, but it may also be because of less heat gain through the Gravity canopies due to the enhanced IR rejection over the Air.

Wish I could tell you something more definitive.

I still get an issue where the sun can be at an angle that hits me in the eyes no matter what direction I put the sun visors in, so I may consider the sunshades for the summer. My kids have not been bothered in the 2nd and 3rd row; however have not had the vehicle in a situation on a hot sunny day parked outside.
 
It’s been warming up in NorCal in the 70’s and sunny. When the sun is at the spot above the sun visor on your forehead you feel it. I think the front canopy sunshades will be required at a minimum. The full glass canopy that extends from the windshield up may look good, but it’s a bad functional design. At least give us auto chromatic glass, or some built in sunshade at this price point if you’re going full glass. Charging $250 for sunshades makes it even worse.
 
We are in South Carolina. We've had sunny days, but no hot ones yet. I've had no complaints from back seat passengers and have not been unhappy with it while sitting back there. I put PPF on the whole thing, but I'm holding off on a tinting decision until I see how it does. I think it might be a little worse than your typical car for those hours around sunrise/sunset, if you can't get the visor exactly where you want it. I've never been particularly light sensitive. Rarely ever wear sunglasses. Cave trolls may think differently.
 
Can't compare to Air but I can say the week of temps in the 80s we had in SoCal last month convinced me to get the roof sunshades. I think it's better to have the option and if I want to take them out the front ones at least are super easy, the back takes a little more work but isn't that much harder really.
