My basic requirement to trade my 2022 GT for a 2027 GT: UWB key system with Apple Car Key. The unlocking drives me nuts. When I put my two year-old grandkid in the car seat on the passenger side rear, by the time I get to the driver's door the car is locked and off. I'm never more than 1 foot from the car. Completely unacceptable.

The Air owners manual makes reference to the seat belt nag starting at a lower speed for 2027 and later models.

That's the only difference that I'm aware of, and it's relatively trivial.

Oh, and they dropped the 19¨ Aeronaut Stealth wheels.
Also can't choose 20 way seats tor the touring and only the Pureluxe seats for that in the GAT. Obviously no incentives to order a 2027 versus clear out their inventory.

I just swapped from a new AT to a used GAT that showed up. In the meantime they also told me essentially there is nothing changed on the 2027 for DD and the charging hardware.

I should say, their ordering process for a used one is … troublesome? Had to go back and forth with help from the sales person and finally ordered it, with lots of changes needed on the back end. I’ll refrain from details until I have the car in my parking spot!

While I appreciate the relative simplicity of the NACS--and it would have been nice to get it on the 2027 model--I can certainly live with using the adapter.

Honestly, I'm more interested in refinements to DreamDrive, SurrealSound, getting dashcam capability, and resolution of recurring build quality issues (parts/function failures). I say that as someone who still does not own; I'm basing all of my opinions on a single test drive and a lot of research, which I know is not the same as having owned and driven the Air for months or years.

Regardless, I'm all in. Just waiting for the right moment to pull the trigger on an order.
Besides, for the time being at least, CCS1 chargers have faster machines (350 kW and 400kW) than NACS chargers. There are some Tesla V4 Superchargers with 500 kW but they are like needles in a field full of haystacks. Literally single digit population. Competition from CCS1 chargers is needed to keep Tesla on their game.

All for simplification, however even at the Pure price level there are several items that should have been included. They should include heated rear seats and heated steering wheel on all models. To make them optional seems . These are found on the most basic of BEV to increase range when operating in cooler climates.

Agreed, and EA chargers are reasonably plentiful in my region.

I have a Tesla charger in my spot, so haven’t traveled far enough to need a charger in the wild in a long time. However, when I got my Tesla 5 years ago, I was never having luck with non-tesla charging. Charge point was always broken, EA not around my smallish town in quantity. Guessing it is way better now but a drive from tx to MN scares me.

Public charging is far better now. Tesla is no longer the best.

Just looked at the 2027 configurator and it's kind of sad. No upping range on any models and if you want the 20-Way seat configuration it will cost you about 35K-40K, i.e. you have to get a Grand Touring :)! The 2026 configurator is best until the 2026 models run out. Not real happy that only get 12-Way seating in the Pure and Touring and they do not have the cooling option for the seats. If you want the Pro sound now for the Pure it is mixed with a fluffy Stealth & Sound Package (19" Wheels): "A distinctive combination of Stealth exterior styling and Surreal Sound™ Pro. Exclusive darkened finishes, 19" Aero Range Stealth wheels, and immersive Dolby Atmos® audio through 21 speakers create a bold visual presence and an exceptional listening experience." that sounds like car dealer speak and the price is $4,500.00!! I am really into the "bold visual presence", NOT. You cannot get the Comfort and Convenience Package on the Pure nor DD Pro if that is your thing, must move up to the Touring and for both it is another 10K so now you are up to 90K for the Touring. Add Pro sound and you go over 90K a hair, great. Hmm, my 2024 Lucid Air Pure lease is up 7/2027, decisions, decisions. Wonder if this is the only way the 2027s will be configured?

Maybe in some areas, but Tesla is far and away the best in the Midwest and Ontario, Canada and it is not one even close. I don’t even believe that JD Power release. I have a hard time buying an EV without NACS, as I know Tesla chargers are in lot more locations, there are a lot more of them at one charging location (and easily accessible in good locations) where I travel and are way more reliable too.

I travel all the time, ie 25,000 miles a year throughout the Midwest, PA and Ontario, Canada, so have a lot of experience.

Was really hoping the Air would have NACS this year, although figured it would not. Really too bad, as think the 27’s will be a hard sell, especially with not many incentives and the lease programs even on the Grand Touring Air’s for 26 are very poor.

So the Touring is a 90k car without ventilated seats?!? Yikes.

I don’t have an issue with them making the Pure more stripped down tho.

Newer non-Tesla charging installations generally include at least as many NACS ports as CCS1. CCS is a legacy thing in the USA at this point.
There are actually 3X more non-Tesla locations than Tesla, though as you say the older installations tend to be small with only 4 stalls.

And without heated steering wheel or heated rear seats. Unless purchased with the comfort and convenience package.

My question is. I had a Wallbox CCS1 charger installed in my garage in 2022 that we are very happy with. We use it to charge my AGT and my wife's BMW i4M50. We recently purchased a condo in April of this year in Palm Desert CA.(built in the late 80's) Should I have another Wallbox CCS1 installed in the garage of our newly acquired condo or should I have a NACS box installed, since it looks like most auto manufacturers are replacing the CCS1 chargers with NACS? Not sure of the benefits or disadvantages of each kind of what I should install.

The company has gross margins of -105. They lose money on every car they sell and are prioritizing cash and cost. The current path was not sustainable. As a result there are going to be some tough decisions that won’t be popular.

All cars in the USA will be switching to NACS. Some charging station manufacturers sell a replacement cable so that you can change an existing unit from CCS to NACS. That replacement cable only fits the manufacturer's own charging station, not others.

Based on the current Lucid AT configurator (no massage/ventilated seats option), I currently have 2 Lucids on lease - my first one and my last one. Unless it changes for MY 2028 when my lease is up...

They want to play in the $80k+ market they need to offer comparable equipment to the rest of the market. Saving $1000 per car (or charging $3k on options) will not even begin to stop the bleeding. Limiting options is a good way to save money (less variety = easier inventory management), cutting what the market considers standard equipment for the class is not.

Yeah this came up in another thread and I said the same thing with my kids. There was a lot of criticism shot back saying well just use the fob not your phone. Change passive unlock etc. But the bigger point is if you’re offering a mobile option you shouldn’t have to do all that to avoid your kid getting locked even briefly in the car.

I’m with you.

Ventilated seats are available with the leather upgrade. Massage is gone though.
