I think the main question right now for the Air, is it worth it to completely refactor the vehicle to upgrade it to what the Gravity has or something better, from the infotainment system, to DreamDrive 2, NACS and the entry system? How much would it cost to integrate these upgrades into an existing vehicle that has been originally designed many years ago with legacy foundational hardware,? How much revenue would it generate after going through the cost and time of these upgrades? Etc.
In my opinion, and despite how much I love the Air, it looks like they’ll copy Tesla’s Model S footsteps and kill the Air to focus on the Midsize, since it makes more sense financially and practically. It’s going to be easier and cheaper to develop the midsize now on modern systems used in the Gravity, it’ll generate more sales and revenue than the Air, by a huge margin, and it’ll be easier to manage a new product rather than trying to fix the gaps left in an old product. I hope I’m wrong…
