As long as there are enough of them and they are working when you get there, thats great. I started with a Tesla Y and got comfortable with the Tesla set up so I dont look for any other chargers.

I am waiting for the 2027 update too... I have been getting their "pull-forward" emails trying to entice me get out out of my 2023 and into a new 2026, but don't see an Air available or currently in their pipeline which fits my spec entirely--and there is no active online configurator for ordering. Hopefully soon.

Lucid seems to be moving away from custom orders and pushing inventory cars heavily.

Also, please don’t get your hopes up for the future of Air. Lucid just doesn’t have the time or money to invest in a car that at best will sell 6-10k units per year. And at a loss at that.

Any significant improvement to Air, any true fix for all of its OG flaws, would take far more work than it’s worth at this point, I fear.

I’d be shocked if the ‘27 models have anything new at all at this point.

What I'd need to see this year to get a new Air instead of Gravity:
- UWB fob system
- DDPro2 (with Nvidia's Orin chip)
- NACS with similar charging performance as Gravity

What I expect:
- Nothing
They would have to go to an 800 V architecture to match the Gravity, which is a huge change. Major redesign. Not practical.

Air has the voltage. But that’s the problem. Most Superchargers don’t. It’s down voltage that’s the problem. And yes, it would be a major lift to do that for Air.

Actually, I’m not sure. But I do know that the Gravity voltage architecture is fundamentally different from the Air.
The battery module architecture is almost identical between Air and Gravity. Gravity uses different cells with a slightly different voltage, 926 for Gravity and 920 for Air. The difference is in the DC boost circuit where Gravity uses the rear motor for boost that can provide 220kW and Air uses a DC to DC boost in the Wunderbox that can only provide 50kW.

For exmaple in Germany is not possible to do configuration anymore. You can but then no option to purchase/send this one, it goes to stock vehicles and shows percentage matches.

I started out wishfully hopeful that the 2027 Air might bring a few meaningful updates and perhaps some fresh color choices. But with the recent management changes and significant personnel cutbacks, I am less confident that Lucid will devote much energy to refreshing the existing Air platform.

It feels as though the company is in survival mode—trimming costs and putting its limited resources toward getting the newer products to market. I still hope they surprise us, because the Air remains a terrific car, but I have become more concerned about Lucid’s longer-term prospects.

This should be coming any day now. Last year it was July 22. Really hoping they pull through with some real updates, namely DDPro2!

The Air is still their biggest seller isn’t it?
I’m pretty sure the most recent sales figures showed Air sales dropping off a cliff. The Gravity is selling quite a bit more at this point I believe.

Just checked: according to Cox automotive, Q2 sales for the Air was 920 units, alongside 1811 Gravities. (Air sold 2630 Q2 2025)

No idea how reliable their numbers are; we should get the official numbers during that call in the beginning of August.

They haven't been breaking out Air or Gravity sales just total vehicle sales. That could (and hopefully will) change with the new CEO.

A source at the KoP SC, which handles intake/prep for Eastern US said the ratio of Gravity to Air they were processing was about 75/25 in favor of Gravity as of last month. Sedans are a niche in today's market.

Seems so crazy to me… people have fewer kids these days and 90% of the time people are driving alone in their car to work. I guess the SUV marketing machine is just really effective for lots of people.

Not to mention the passenger and cargo space of the Air beats a lot of “crossover” SUVs on the market…

"The Normals" all seem crazy to me.
