We drove the Rivian R1S electric SUV for the first time and it sure is an impressive all-around electric beast of a machine. But is it better than the Rivian R1T?

One part stood out to me:

When the destination set in the navigation system is a DC fast charger, the R1S will automatically begin to precondition the battery with heating or cooling, whichever is needed, to ensure the vehicle will charge at its optimal rate.

I'm not an SUV fan and in my opinion I don't like the looks at all. But my guess is it will be successful even with the poor range.
