HVAC auto needs fixing

the auto setting for the HVAC really needs to be fixed. In its current state, it’s almost unusable. I’m constantly turning it to manual because there’s not enough airflow coming out the top vents or it sounds like I’m outside an airport runway.

And even when it’s 100 degrees outside, the HVAC on auto sounds like it’s doing a lot, but there’s no airflow anywhere. It’s almost as if the HVAC is routing majority of the air to the front defroster vents or something.

Something needs to be done to fix this.

I agree, it's ridiculous. It does often seem to route air to the front defrost vent without even visually showing it in the UI.

I’ve also wondered why it seems like a jet engine is spooling up next to me but not much air is coming out of the vents. I prefer Auto mode for simplicity but do find myself sticking it in manual mode.

It’s funny this thread popped up because my Gravity is currently in service and we have a Jeep Grand Wagoneer rental. I told my wife yesterday “is it me or is the AC in this thing way better than the Gravity?” She agreed. Go figure.

The jet engine spooling up is the rear vents when they are over fan level 4. Lower the speed on the rear vents and the noise will go away, be reduced.

I had a loaner Gravity and the whole HVAC felt kinda unrefined

In my Air its really good though, better vent setup than my i7 for sure.

I left it on manual because I prefer warmer temps and higher airflow, and my kids wanted the vents to always do something specific (daughter always wants face and feet, son always just wants upper). And for the 3rd row pretty you need above speed 4. So wife/passenger is only on auto.
