How to check HP

Dual motor Pure build is E 619 hp just like the touring. Pure with one motor is F or 480 hp.
This is absolutely incorrect. My VIN is F (480 HP touring motors, but de-tuned) and dual motor. The Pure RWD is more like 430 HP.

Some Pure AWD/Dual motor have an F designation for 480hp it seems. Maybe differences in how early Pure were manufactured vs the later ones.

Well, not absolutely incorrect. Maybe the VIN code changed. But I remember very well, the dual motor pure had same horsepower as the touring. They don’t seem to sell Pure and anymore.

Yep. Based on everything I’ve seen in my car and on these forums, the Pure AWD isn’t a “pure” Pure (sorry, couldn’t resist). It’s a Touring that was software-detuned, most likely to enable Lucid to sell Airs at the “Pure” price point while the real Pure, the Pure RWD, was being developed.

In that sense, it’s a rare beast and a phenomenal value. And I quite like it. :)

Interesting indeed. Mine has an E. Built 02/23.

So, it seems quite possible that when Lucid first introduced the Pure AWD, they did not bother de-tuning the Touring's powertrain, in which case @timpossible's 7th space 'E' designation would mean that he really has a 619 HP car. In which case, a little later in the model year, Lucid de-tuned the Touring's powertrain to 480 HP, and gave it the 7th space 'F' designation that many more Pure AWD owners have. I was always amazed at how my Pure AWD was (options aside) exactly the same as a Touring right down to the pound on these cars' placards, other than the software de-tuning. Little did I know that there are some Pure AWDs out there with the whole HP enchilada! I would be a bit envious if I had ever pressed my Pure's accelerator pedal more than a third of the way down. Oh, hell! Who am I kidding? I'm envious anyway!!!

Chiming in here with a Pure 2023 AWD in case Lucid employees are reading. +1 would love if there was a HP software upgrade I could pay for in the future.

Check your VIN number. If the 7th space is an 'E', you may already be running at 619 HP. If there's an 'F' there, you've been de-tuned. I was F'ed!!! :-)
Just for grins, I took my VIN, changed the 7th position from an 'F' to and 'E', and reran the VIN checker. Sure enough, the altered VIN shows the kW equivalent of 619 HP.

7 digit of VIN (for the early cars, should carry forward)
From highest hp to lowest
T=930kw (1247hp)
A=828kw (1110hp)
D=783kw (1050hp)
C=695kw (932hp)
B=597kw (800hp)
E=462kw (619hp)
F=358kw (480hp)
G=330hp (443hp)

I have an early GT-P
Lucid advertised the model as having 1050 HP
My window sticker notes 1111 HP
At one Lucid Center a Service person said maybe I got lucky
At another Lucid Center a sales person thought the window sticker was incorrect
When I asked here, one guy was adamant that only the DE-P cars could have the 1111 HP

What does the VIN say in that spot?

In September 2022, I confirmed with a high-up Lucid exec that some of the GT-P’s were shipped with the wrong Monroney sticker. They confirmed it was a typo and that it should say 1050 HP for the GT-P.

@borski I'm holding my 2023 Pure AWD Monroney sticker in my hand and nowhere does it state any horsepower. Should it?
The Pure AWD was a short-lived option since withdrawn. I think Pure RWD was 480hp and Touring AWD was 510hp, so what really is Pure AWD hp?
It's academic -- no numbers can affect my love for this fantastic machine. Just curious in case some Corvette owner gets bossy. Nevermind GWV.

Hi, @borski! Given your vast institutional knowledge, do you recall the initial 2023 Pure AWDs having the same 619 HP as the 2023 Tourings, only to be de-tuned later in the model year? Given the apparent 7th place code shift from an 'E' to an 'F', and some comments of other forum members, it sounds like that happened, rather than simply being a VIN code error. Just curious.

I have absolutely no idea. I only know about the original DE-P Monroney stickers because I chased that down the first time it was posted here.
