Comments in the past how EV’s do not need tune ups like ICE cars. I get it. Air filters, spark plugs, oil and oil filters no longer present but what about all the ECU’s, other computer chips and mountains of wiring. Considering heat, moisture and vibration what will be the practical life span of these new EV’s.

Only point of reference I heard was a comment by Peter Rawlinson on the battery video mentioning 200,000 miles.

The real question is "How long do you want it to last?" My Model S P100D is about 5 years old and has had virtually NOTHING repaired (nor maintained). I literally have never had it serviced for any reason at all. The UI software (phone, nav, voice commands, etc) is slowing down (I am on the recall list to replace a processor or something). Also, the battery holds less charge -- it reaches a max of 290 now (it used to reach 320). There are others here with much older Model S's, so they might weigh in. I'm willing to bet that all these EVs will still be functional in 15 years...but they will be outdated technology by then because we will be using hovercraft.

EVs are more like cell phones than cars. They last longer than they are desirable.

My 2013 Model S has really only had one issue (shaking steering wheel, which was replaced). It works just fine, I simply wanted a nicer car. Every once is while something goes - like the window motors, but they are easily fixed.

I have a 2012 Model S which I will be selling when I get my AGT. It has 114.000 miles, battery charges to about 230-240, everything still works. I used to bring it in once a year to ensure that the warranty would still be good but stopped once the warranty ran out. I have had to replace door handles and a screen (under warranty) but otherwise no other repairs including brakes.
