How is it possible

The Gravity (mine is #66) is my second Lucid. Air GT was first. I suffered through the awful software problems for two years. Finally it got better, but not really good. Having worked with and managed software development I might understand some issues. I hoped Gravity SW built on top of the Air experience. But no!!!! In some cases it is worse than Air was. And this shows disrespect for the buyers of the car… The software looks like bits and pieces glued together based on some plan. But it is not byggy! It is awful: unstable, some notifications pop up and go at times for no reason and some other functions DO NOT WORK: auto parking! It is available but ….. rarely finds a slot even in areas with fresh markings! How can this happen? Why do they mame it “visible” when it is so blatantly disfunctional?
And the mess with the music players! I got a situation where on one screen showed a song while the other showed another one….Too bad…
On the good side BMW logic for software is still convoluted…Only Tesla seems to have it solved

Apparently the auto-park function only identifies available slots between 2 vehicles. If you go to an open parking lot, the spaces are not identified regardless of how fresh the markings are. I therefore generally don't use auto-park as I prefer to park my vehicle away from others when possible.

I don't have a Gravity. As such, I am not informed to comment on Gravity's SW.

That said, I own a 2022 AGT and a 2023 Rivian R1S. When it comes to SW, bugs, features (e.g., hands-free driving), there is no comparison between the Lucid and Rivian. Rivian is solid. Lucid is not. To be clear, I am not in love with Rivian's (my opinion) cluttered SW interface. But Rivain's SW work flawlessly! Lucid's does not.

I am not a SW guy per se. But I managed large businesses where my products are shipped with both HW/FW/SW. As such, I think I appreciate the interplay and intricacies. To me, at its core, Lucid is a power train ad mechanical company. I might add, a great one at that. But when it comes to building a car that requires SW/HW integration, that's where it falls short.

I am struck that the Lucid system is basically a grid computing system, requiring an understanding of grid systems and for stability the need for resource locking understanding... layering upon that a UX to make the right data available via a collection of graphics (some visible all the time, some hidden behind what should be an intuitive and relatively shallow menu system, including extensive logging and a visualization of them for the customer. (Typed off the top of my head, no thoughts on if that is sufficient, but strong belief that it is all necessary.) Some are nailed (e.g. driving dynamics), some not so much (but with OTAs they can iteratively get there if the market gives them time).
