How do I prevent the car from constantly locking and unlocking when the key fob is inside?

I recently tried using my Lucid Gravity as a micro RV and ran into an issue where the car kept locking and unlocking every few minutes all night long, which was obviously super annoying. I tried with Pet Mode both on and off, but the issue persisted. I'm pretty sure this isn't normal behavior, but next time I'll just leave the key fob home.

Do you mean "Auto Lock/Unlock"? I use this feature a lot because I constantly forget to lock the car. I could, of course, turn it off just while camping, but I’d definitely forget to turn it back on later.

Yeah, you can usually lock other cars from the inside with the key right there, but they don't just start randomly unlocking on their own like this.

If you leave it in that little holder in the center console does it not just maintain whatever state, you left it in? Although in park it's normally unlocked...I am guessing in camping you want it to stay locked. I think the issue is without something registering (occupancy) in a seat it just assumes people are trying to get into it.

I’ve tried putting the key in different spots, but I haven't tried leaving it in the actual designated key slot in the center console yet. As I mentioned above, I did try turning on Pet Mode, which, from what I understand, disables the interior sensors. I think the issue is either software-related or due to unreliable key fob detection. I don’t see any other reason for the car to keep locking and unlocking when the key is known to be inside the cabin the whole time—unless the car keeps losing and regaining the signal, thinking someone is approaching the vehicle and it needs to unlock. I used to camp and sleep in my BMW X5 all the time, and I could easily lock the car from the inside using either the key fob or the door buttons without ever running into any issues.

I think we have to admit that the Lucid's keyfob implementation is an absolute embarrassment.

It turns out that placing the key in the center console key slot solves the issue perfectly! Thank you for the helpful suggestion.

I have to try this next time I go surf. the last 2 times after an hour I came back to the car, only to find it unlocked. key inside the car. I lock it from my apple watch.
