I’m happy to join the Lucid community after getting delivery of my GDE #160 on 12/27/2025.

I’ve been a long time Tesla fan and was an early adopter of the Tesla Model X. I still have my 2016 Model X P90D. Talk about growing pains with the Falcon wing doors…

I’ve been lurking in these forums and watching every YouTube video on anything related to Lucid in the last six months. All the software problems were concerning, as well as the long term financial viability of Lucid. However, I took a leap of faith on Tesla, and I’m taking a similar leap of faith on Lucid. I’m switching from Tesla to Lucid.

I’ve been driving my GDE for the last week and am loving it. Yes, there are minor software glitches here and there, but nothing that gets in the way of getting from point A to point B in comfort and fun. I’m happy to report that I have had zero Keyfob issues; my Gravity was delivered with the latest software (3.3.20) and keyfob firmware (2.33.08).

Maybe I have a unicorn, but I’m thrilled that my Gravity has been 100% reliable and a pure joy to drive.

Welcome. Glad you are loving your Gravity Dream Edition!! I love my Air Dream Edition very much. There are a lot of very nice Lucid owners here in the Bay Area. Come the Spring we will be having some get togethers for sure.

Congrats on the GDE—having made a similar switch myself, I’ve found the Lucid Gravity delivers a smoother ride and fewer real-world issues than expected, especially on the latest software, so your “unicorn” experience actually seems to be becoming the norm.

Can you share more about what you like most about your Gravity? Aside from minor software issues, is there anything else that you find particularly outstanding compared to Tesla?

Can you share more about what you like most about your Gravity? Aside from minor software issues, is there anything else that you find particularly outstanding compared to Tesla?

The hardest part about answering this question is trying to keeping it short (I failed). Just about everything is better than Tesla.

I had a 2026 Model X Plaid on order. However, I cancelled the order after test driving the Gravity for an hour and putting it through its paces. I picked up my Gravity just after Christmas. After nearly 5 months of ownership, I still feel like I’m opening a Christmas present every time I get into my car.

The range is great, being able to drive nearly 50% longer distance between charges in real-world terms compared to my Model X. I smile when I look at my range at 60% charge and see that it’s higher than 100% charge on my Tesla.

The ride is quiet, smooth, and comfortable for everyday driving. Spirited driving is fun, and I got to appreciate the driving dynamics in a heavy rainstorm. Totally in control and planted, even with traction control having to kick in. Tesla is louder, has a harsher ride, and I feel more squirreliness on wet roads, driving a tad more gingerly (both cars are on Hankook ION AS SUV tires.)

The UX is intuitive and nicely done - baring the software glitches, which I have confidence will be stamped out. I’m thoroughly enjoying Dolby Atmos and subscribed to Tidal just for that. Tesla UX is ok and has stability going for it. The Tesla sound system is a step down.

I’ve taken road trips with 4 people, two large dogs, and luggage for a week. No way would all that fit into my Model X. The massage seats and the rear tray tables were great to have. The Gravity’s interior feels luxurious. Tesla‘s interior feels spartan.

The one thing Tesla has over Lucid is FSD. I’m hoping Lucid’s partnership with Nvidia will give us L3++. Still, I bought the Gravity based on DDPro, which is adequate for my commute and road trips. DDPro being bad would have been a deal breaker.

Pick any one feature of the Gravity and you’ll find a car out there that is better on that particular feature. However, there is nothing like the Gravity as a whole: Luxurious long-range family road-tripper and cargo hauler SUV that drives like a car, with incredible driving dynamics that can out-perform most sports cars.

Edit: I forgot to mention the Gravity has stalks and physical buttons! Also, I like the squircle and being able to see the cockpit display vs. looking through the steering wheel.
