Or, we'll know more when the first Touring / Pure customers start getting emails from their DAs to confirm their orders. So far, not a peep. So production definitely hasn't started yet.
Remains to be seen. Per the original intent, if you "confirmed" your order and made your deposit non-refundable, the thought it that will lock you into a binding written contract. However, there is a clause the IRS added about binding written contracts which indicates at least 5% of a high value item (like a car) must be put up as non-refundable to truly make it binding. So.... unless the price drops significantly, not sure our deposit covers the 5% rule. A lawyer might be able to find a misplaced "and" or "or" in the clause and work with a CPA to make it work. YMMV.
