Has anybody else noticed the dark spots at night when the headlights are on. First time I noticed it I was driving down my dark winding road and I could see the spots in front of me. And every time I would turn the dark shadows gave the impression there was something moving. I attached two pictures of my car right in front of my garage door where you can see the dark spot.

Yes I’ve noticed this along with passengers. Not sure why they’re there

I believe the original reason given was that the empty spots are for oncoming drivers to decrease the risk of blinding them. My Volvo has something similar.
I still get high beam flashed all the time 🤷‍♂️

It's the smart lighting tech LUCID has. It was in C&D, a whole page on it May 2022. Cutting-edge stuff and super excited to get my hands on it next year.

But can they project "Lucid" on a wall? 😂

I see the dark spot as well while driving at night. It is annoying. As if something is blocking part of the headlight beam.

Do a search on these forums. This topic has been talked about many times.

The dark spots are there to prevent you blinding oncoming traffic. They are necessary and completely normal for the Air. Nothing wrong with your car.

Hi,

Experiencing a dark spot while driving at night can be quite bothersome, almost like there's an obstruction partially blocking the headlight beam. Free Fire Name

After 14,000 miles I have never found that the car has insufficient illumination.

I still notice the dark spots but I don't think they diminish the visibility at all. I just think of it as a novelty.

I've only had the car for a few days and the dark spots are bothersome. If you're on level ground and making a turn with the lights reflecting off something solid (like a wall, hill or bushes), those dark spots appear to be 'something' moving in the direction you're turning. In this pic, they're relatively small, but projected 50-100 feet more, they're about the same as a medium sized dog.

I’ve only had the car for 1,024 days but I haven’t experienced anything that made me think something was moving in front of me due to the dark spots. It does “move” but it’s directly proportional to the movement of the lights.

Wouldn’t an animal be light up by the lights though? They are powerful and a critter would be illuminated. Not dark.
