Today I saw very scary youtube video where a Mustang E electric car was malfunctioning with a stuck steering wheel. It looks like from the video that the brakes were not working, too. It happened at US 101 around San Carlos,CA area.
That raised a question in my head for our cars. Do our cars have manuel or hand brake option somewhere? I never tried in my car but I guess our cars don't have ability to put it on park while driving, too.

I was just thinking from safety perspective what we could do in a similar situation. 🤔

Hold down the park button on the right stock for about 3 seconds..it's the emergency brake...be careful though because the car comes to a grinding halt when this is used..

Great question (and answer!)

I don’t think that video was accurately described. No way the steering, brakes and motor all failed at once.

Lucid regenerative breaking should bring car to halt automatically even when actual brakes fail.

New reports came out that the initial investigation found no fault with the car, it wasn’t in any self driving mode, but the driver was arrested on the scene for DUI.

Still though, this thread is good so all of us know what to do just in case something were to go wrong!

A good instance showing how wrong and even dangerous media reports can be today. It is important to remember that this forum are filled with anecdotal information. Useful but still anecdotal and not statistically valid. Even some JLR owners end up with perfect vehicles and some Lexus owners end up with disasters.
