There's been some significant changes between the 2022 and 2025 model years, such as the heat-pump (I'm in Colorado so that's useful for range loss in cold weather), and I believe a computer update (not just software).
Early models of any cars can be somewhat temperamental as companies iron-out the wrinkles so-to-speak. From what I gather, most of the updates have been solved through OTA software.

For anyone who's driven both the GT and GT-P, I understand the additional Hp (and probably lateral-g's) are better or similar (0.9g?) and about a second faster quarter-mile time. How is the PLUSHNESS of the ride though? Similar?

I'm coming out of a Cadillac CT6 Platinum/Luxury AWD/AWS and a supercharged Corvette Grand Sport C6 (manual) as my two daily drivers. I was going to trade these low mile examples in for a GT or GT-P perhaps.

Unfortunately, it's hard to test-drive any, even from Denver that's 100 miles north of me because they said they have to order them and have none available. They did a road-show a year and a half ago here in Colorado Springs and let me drive it in the parking lot with an appointment and I found at slow speeds it felt very heavy and freight-train-like with artificial and VERY heavy steering and unusual, notchy brake feel (similar to a Gen1 Chevy Volt). They may have had the settings for that kind of feedback and response in the menus but I didn't get to adjust them as I was only allowed about 4 minutes.

Suspension and comfort features should be pretty much identical between GT and GT-P. The computer update was only to make infotainment a bit snappier, mainly for the built in nav. Heat pump will make some difference for you in the winter, but probably not all that much. If you find a good GT-P deal and you’re interested in the extra HP I’d say go for it, don’t sweat the minor upgrades in the 2025 MY.

As for your brief test drive experience, that’s unexpected, and I think you need to spend some more time behind the wheel. I have never heard the handling of any Lucid described as “freight-train-like.” However, the lighter trims (Pure and Touring) do, at least in my opinion, feel more nimble. Less acceleration at the high end, but lighter through curves. Maybe you can find a more local Lucid on Turo or via Enterprise?

Turo is a good idea! I'll see if there's one available. (YEP! a Touring). I'll give it a try, thanks segbrk!!

If you want the extra HP of the GTP (which you will have to get used as far as I know) you might as well try to find a used Dream P and get even more HP and torque.

The ride of the GT-P is slightly more firm. Suspension is revised and tuned differently as well. The DE-P and GT-P are nearly identical from what I've been told and heard.

I consider the GT-P to be an entirely different beast when under spirited driving. The GT is a fantastic car, but there are stark differences in the cars.

As far as availability, I have not checked the used market for GT-P. You cannot buy a new one at this time from Lucid as the trim has been discontinued. The trim is essentially limited edition in the same way DEs aren't being produced anymore.
