Gravity V3.5.7

I haven't been notified about the update yet. Still on 3.5.1 and says it's up to date.

Emad Dlala said they were switching to a new software platform as part of their plan to sort out the software mess. Maybe this update was the switch to that platform, and it didn't change or add any new features . . . thus none being mentioned in the release notes? And the existing features that were malfunctioning (such as locking/unlocking) are now working properly on the new platform?

We went out in one of our Gravities tonight for the second time since the update, and its locking and unlocking actually has functioned properly on both outings.

(We haven't been able to download the update to our older Gravity, as it's back in the Roswell Service Center for yet another drive unit malfunction.).
Could just be updating has a similar effect that people see things working better first few weeks or so - maybe like a cleaner reboot

Yeah, that crossed my mind as well as I do feel the keyfob performance has degraded over time since the previous update. Time will tell if it was truly fixed.

Can any software people help me understand why a pre update update would be necessary if the pre update does not infact result on any obvious improvement or new functionality? Why can't it be one update?

Not complaining, I'm sure there are good reasons but as a non techy I would think everything can just be in one update?

Mine updated successfully on first attempt in ~20 minutes as advertised.
This is my assumption.

It could memory map change. They might be increasing some regions in the memory. For example, dedicating extra space in nonvol/bios region. Or database setup and can be million different things. I have mot received this update on my gravity. I am still at 3.5.1.

Fobs seemed to work much better after 3.4.1 too... for a while. Until they didn't.

Nick Twork did say for the next big update they were going to release it to a few vehicles at the end of next week (June 4-5-ish) and them do a broader roll out the following week. Perhaps they started that type of roll out with 3.5.7.

I think if loaners were getting the update, it's rolling out via a planned schedule. Possible they aren't pushing over the weekend due to problems they had in the past.

I certainly don't know, but a deliberate, planned rollout seems to be preferable.

I wouldn't put a stake in the ground when executive management refers to a date. Generally, it's an expected timeline, not a deadline. As a user, I would prefer it that way...

Dream Ahead!

I do t have update. Anyone else ?
You seem to ask this every 10 minutes; you know they release in batches, right? Not all owners at once.

Here are two websites to keep you informed:

Register your vehicle at both so you can participate in the rollout statistics...

lucidtracker is showing only 1 verified update in the last 24 hours. What's with that?
Limited sample set?
Mine is showing 3.5.7 available, but it's also in for service to replace the steering rack so I imagine it'd be rude to start the update.

what were the symptoms that lead to steering rack needing replacement? On mine they recently replaced upper and lower intermedeate steering shafts (steering wheel was kind of doing creaking sound sometimes on turns more than 90 degrees)

Same here. Our older Gravity is sitting locked up and in the dark in a Service Center, and the app is showing the update is available for it. I was tempted, but I thought it best not to risk anything they might have underway with the car.

We were getting brief "steering assist unavailable" warnings when the steering was at full rotation. I asked them to pull the logs to see if this was a real issue, and they wanted to get it in for service. I wonder if the remediation is overkill, but I appreciate the attention. We haven't noticed any functional issues related to this.

Anyone know if Home Assistant's Lucid Motors integration works or is it accurate? It said Update download complete on May 28, but no actual update was done on the car in the past few day. I just saw this with a new download complete time. Yet still no actual update performed on the car. So update files are downloaded are stored in the car, and then they are activated randomly? Or when the car meets certain conditions then the update will start?

It does work and it is accurate. However, what you are seeing is that the update status became unavailable, which is different from an update being downloaded. When the vehicle actually downloads an update, the status will switch to downloading. I have noticed that the update download status goes to unavailable and then complete pretty regularly. As a result, I modified my HA automation to only alert when the status changes to downloading or installing to avoid getting false alerts.

Mine is making the same creaking sound when the steering wheel is turned more than 90 degrees to the left. I've identified it's actually the front left air strut boot that is slightly moving when the wheel turns. It's a little bit annoying but nothing to worry about.

mine was just in for something they thought might be the steering rack but turned out was a defective half-shaft and wheel bearings. no warnings, just errant noise with mine.

no 3.5.7 happiness for me yet. pretending to be on topic.
