Gravity Mobile Key working reliably?

Good morning,

I have ordered a Gravity GT scheduled for delivery in Q2 2026.

Quick question: is the Mobile Key/keyless entry feature now running reliably for the iPhone or does one still have to carry a fob or card?

Phone as a key is not yet active in Gravity. It is planned but not available yet. You still need fob now.

The batteries in the key is very prone to draining. Since November I've replaced it twice. Even in the out of spec race one of the gravity had an issue. The Leatherman helps to pry open the key to replace the battery.

@EBITDArules I’ve had my Gravity for three weeks. Key fob has been working flawlessly, so Lucid has fixed the problem. The Gravity is awesome - I love it!

As for the battery issue, a software fix is on the way. Apparently, the key fob tries to connect to the car too frequently causing excessive battery drain. I’m at three weeks on the original battery, another reported that they were at seven weeks and still going, while others like @pyle112 reported changing more frequently. See the excellent NotchEV video by @Cyp where he puts his key fob issue into perspective during the Eastern Edge Race.

I’m not concerned about the key fob battery life. I carry the key card as backup and I keep a spare battery in my car. Supposedly, even a dead key fob can used as a key card, as it has NFC, but I’m waiting for my key fob to actually die before trying this out (I don’t want to take the battery out of my key fob and disturb my battery life experiment). Also, you can cannibalize the visor batteries in a pinch - it has the same batteries. I can deal with changing the battery until the firmware update comes along.

Surprising that notchev says that the key fob drain issue is resolved. Lucid may think it's resolved, or may just tell people that the last update should have resolved it but I've got a glove compartment full of batteries, and a key card in my wallet that says otherwise.

OTA 3.3.20 fixed the fob issues for “most” owners but some are still having issues. I am still on original batteries that came with car 2 months ago. Have only had one issue of car not unlocking with fob since 3.3.20 but key card worked fine in that situation (always carry key card as backup.) Lucid has announced another pending updated to address remaining key fob issues, so I guess that is admitting that they have not “completely” stamped out that bug.

As for phone as a key, that is coming but as with anything Lucid, that could be in a month or end of year, who knows.

I would use your time before delivery to get ready for the ownership experience. Not a bad ownership experience, just the one currently in production. There is a MASSIVE amount of knowledge and experience in here - it will prepare you for what may or may not happen to you and I have found it very interesting what people are doing for workarounds and other home brewed fixes.
