Gravity Delivery Appointment Cancelled by Lucid

I posted in a different thread earlier and just came across this. My delivery for my Black DE/Tahoe interior was originally scheduled for today. Over the weekend, my SA informed me that we have to hold the car until this coming Saturday the 23rd. No explanation was given except some vague "service needs more time to get the car ready"...This is at the West Palm Beach location in FL. Definitely sounds like a "stop order" on all sales across the country for this week....let's see if they deliver this Saturday..
We ordered through West Palm also

I ordered a Gravity in late July. I picked one from a list of vehicles already in production. When I ordered, I was told to expect three weeks for delivery. I got a VIN assigned within a week of my order. Yesterday, my sales person told me my car was on hold. He told me that he was told by the factory that all Gravity’s are undergoing a “stop order”. That is the phrase he used. When I asked him what that meant he said all gravity’s are being held at the factory as they work out something that is affecting most or a lot of cars coming off the line.

I heard from my SA today. My car is expected to leave the factory on 8/28. Shipped to Chicago to arrive by 9/2. Quality check in Chicago then off to denver. Hopefully I’ll get the car by 2nd week to mid September.

We picked up the Gravity today! However, with all the excitement, I forgot to ask what the one week hold was for.
I would have assumed this was a pending software update (they won't let vehicles go out without the latest software), but I haven't seen anything past 3.2.2 yet. Maybe they were writing up an inspection for the console connector issue, or something...

Arizona, to Chicago, to Denver? Seems it would be a lot easier/cheaper to do the quality check at the factory. Surely I'm missing something here.

I was told they do checks at both the factory and at the service center. And since denver doesn’t have a service center, they send the car through Chicago’s service center. .

Even so, Phoenix has a Service Center. Still a much straighter line to Denver than via Chicago.

LucidFlys link in YouTube has a fly over from AZ from 8/16 showing approximately 400+ Gravity vehicles in parking lots around the plant. My guess is a rather dramatic screwup on the line to impact that many cars. So a deep dive to make sure all is well before release. Sounds like maybe the 28th?

We have seen a gradual build up of Gravity inventory since may. I doubt there is any "dramatic screwup" but rather a supply issue that is delaying shipment. It runs across both North America and KSA bound Gravity.

PS I am LucidFlys

Yep. Rumor has it they ordered more left hand tires than right hand tires, and now half the Gravities only have tires on one side.

Post was not meant to be derogatory to Lucid or their hardworking assembly folk's in any sense. But having that many cars stuck in the parking lot has got to be an issue to the bottom line for sure.

@davemadeja ….were you ever able to take your delivery? Did u find out why it was delayed? I am supposed to take delivery in Seattle as well. My SA called me up about two weeks ago mentioning end of the month delivery. But now she says my car is waiting to be shipped to Seattle. No proper response…

Just saw this thread. I’m in the same
Boat.

My gravity (black) is likely one of those in the pictures - waiting for Factory gate.

Thanks for all that you do LucidFlys @Adnillien !!

Did your SA tell you that it finished production and is getting ready for delivery? If so how long have you been waiting ?

I had my Gravity delivery appointment set for Aug. 15 in Seattle. That morning the Delivery Manager called me and said they had to cancel my appointment because they were told by higher Lucid authority to put a hold on my delivery. Initially he said they did not tell him why. But later he did say he didn’t think it was a fleet wide issue, but that my Gravity needed to undergo further diagnostic testing? They have had my car in Seattle for 2 weeks, delivery delayed by a defective 2nd row seat belt, although he said that issue was not the current problem. Frustrating delivery process.
Well it took Lucid 4 business days to let my delivery center know what the hold was for. It was a required inspection for some wiring to ensure it was routed correctly. The inspection was done within 2 hours & my Gravity passed, so I was able take delivery the next day.

Sounds like that could be Lucid having figured out the center console wiring problem that's been causing some fob/card issues, and making sure it's corrected.
